Meet Dante Moretti, man-wh0re extraordinaire and professional d0uchebag. He's also an actor. And he's in desperate need of work but of course no one will cast him cause of the problems he causes by being a man-wh0re and a professional d0uchebag.
So, desperate times call for desperate actions.
And just like that Dante comes up with a brilliant plan (and by brilliant plan, of course I mean a batsh*t crazy plan that's purely a gut reaction to his tangible desperation) to get people to think he's matured (overnight) and became a full-on sensible grownup: make his best friend (basically his only real friend too) act as his loving, committed boyfriend.
His straight best friend.
Yeah, that'll get people to taking him seriously alright.
And Chris Parker, sweet, loyal guy and better friend that he is, ends up agreeing with Crazy, putting all and himself in the line for Dante.
So far so crazy.
What his brilliant plan gets him first though, is in fcking lust with Chris and surprising the hell outta him Christ seems to be as much into him. So he gets to clean his public image while fcking the living lights outta his fake boyfriend in the process. Win-win if you ever saw one.
And more crazy than everything else so far is that his plan is actually working. And he finds himself with the part that will redeem him in everyone's eyes. And still he's fcking the loving daylights outta Chris. Life is sweet.
And that's when his old ways, the professional d0uchebag that he was, comes back in full force. Hurting Chris in the process when he realises that he was stupid to believe that Dante was really a changed man and not the self-absorbed as§hole he knows him to be. He was the crazy one, falling for Dante like that when that was not part of the script they came up with... serves him right.
A wake-up call is in order to gain a little perspective before Dante fcks up beyond repair. For the first time in his life he sees clearly: he might be losing Chris forever. Cause he is a moron. And suddenly everything else seems to fall into place. His acting career, his fame and glory, his old life, his new one. And his love for Chris.
And yes, HEA cause Dante might be a jerk, but he is a sweet, sexy, loving one when it comes to Chris.
They are in love.
Chris is straight. He has dabbled with guys before so maybe he is more bisexual than he thinks. But still having the shallow Dante want to be his boyfriend. He is sure this is going to end badly.
When you have someone as sweet and kind hearted as Chris a former child star from the Disney channel and someone as jaded as Dante together the sparks do fly. Both men find themselves changing. And for Dante it is a change for the better. Love looks really good on him.
I liked the progression from friendship to lovers and how what started out as something to fool everyone turns out into the real deal. When you want a romance that will leave you smiling and believing in true love this is the one to pick up.
