What could be better than a wedding? What could possibly go wrong? Everything was coming up Roses for Veronica Sinclair on her Wedding Day. She has a great family, a gorgeous husband who loves her, and who is totally unlike her ex-husband. Honesty is something that she values above all else after all the lies of her ex. Her new husband is as straight arrow as you can get. So what is going on with the seductive woman who is crashing her wedding and drooling all over Richard (Rick), suggesting he isn't who he appears to be? Everything she has ever known is about to be tossed on its ear as she is running for her life with Richard as gunmen interrupt their honeymoon. What in the world has she gotten herself into? She finds herself drawn into Espionage, fake names, disguises, breaking human trafficking rings, as she sorts out her new married life.
I don't care what anyone says, I loved this book. I enjoyed the people in it and the quick-witted conversations between the characters; especially Veronica. I could hardly put it down; totally enjoyable fiction. If you're looking for something deep, serious, and probing; this isn't it. Even with the seriousness of the human slaves, and deaths of the bad guys, it still remained light-hearted in places and adventurous. Sure, there were several places where I figured out something in the story before it played out. But it didn't take one thing away from the enjoyment of the story one bit. I'm hoping there are more books that are written or will be with some of the other people from this book. Vance and Harmony, for one and Veronica's brother Jeff and his new fiance, Courtney, for another.

Review
I enjoyed reading this book, however that is not the only reason I am giving it 5 stars. The characters were well written and enjoyable, the book was fast paced and fun, but the real impact of this book is the theme of fighting against human trafficking and slavery. It is a little known fact that there are more people living in slavery today than ever before in history. Think about that for a minute. Wow. There are people that fight against this everyday, and seeing this incorporated into a fun read was really fantastic. I applaud the author for spreading information on this important issue via a very enjoyable novel, an dfor including some resources in the back of the book for people that would like to take action. Well done! Books and Bostons
This well written novel is a fun read, with interest and intrigue. This story would make a GREAT movie, one that would have you gasp at times, sit at the edge of your seat, and wonder "Who, What, Where, When" as the scenes unfold. You will find yourself moving into the book as a quiet, invisible onlooker. Read it, you'll like it. It reads quite quickly. KB - Amazon
This is a great book! Heather Huffman's books always deliver, and this one is no exception! This one really captures what Ms. Huffman stands for - the fight against human trafficking. I recommend this book not only to those who enjoy great women's fiction, romance, and other such novels, but also to those who want to raise awareness and learn more about human trafficking. Fantastic book, kept me on the edge of my seat, and I read it in about two days! Not an easy feat (feet? If you've read a few of her books, you'll get that reference!! haha) when you stay as busy as I do, but this book (and all of her books) are that easy to read, and that's great!!! After reading "Jailbird"by Heather Huffman, when I saw "Suddenly a Spy" I immediately downloaded it. It was a perfect read for a summer beach vacation.
It all started on her wedding day. Veronica had a perfect wedding, and one uninvited guest. A woman who reminded her of a black widow. Suddenly Ronnie realized that her groom had a secret. Hurt from a previous relationship, she takes nothing less than truth. But can she handle the truth?
Ronnie and Rick's honeymoon was destroyed. Instead of lying on the beach and making love, Ronnie and her husband were suddenly thrown in the middle of the whirlpool of espionage and human trafficking. From daddy's little girl, she becomes a spy. But, can she trust the man she loves?
This book was a real page turner. Veronica is a really lovely character. She is not naïve at all. I adored her. I loved her connection with her brother and her father. Her brother is adorable. An FBI agent with an attitude of a child. Ronnie and Rick's romance was vividly described. Their love is above everything else.
This story has everything. Romance, action, humor, espionage, smuggling, everything. Easy to read. I love Heather Huffman's writing. Fun, romantic, exciting.
I have only one critic. The names of the bad guys, specially one of them. I come from the Balkan and Petrov Kulenovic doesn't work. Petrov is a last name, not first. If it ends with -ov, ic, or -ski, it is a last name. Marko Kulenovic, that name was fine.

Really enjoyed this book. The characters were well written, the dialogue was fun to read, and the story constantly moved forward. The underlying story of human trafficking felt very real and moving. Got her book Throwaway as a kindle freebie, then immediately had to find what else Ms. Huffman had written. I was not disappointed, now can't wait for another one!

I've read a few of Heather Huffman's books and they have all been enjoyable, but this is my least favorite thus far. The story line was a bit far fetched and the characters did not have any real introduction - you were just sort of thrust into the middle of things and there seemed to be a lot the characters did not know about themselves too!
I also think that the author had a moral lesson or at least wanted to bring awareness of an important issue through this story - but I felt the message was sort of lost within the plot wasn't quite heard over the other story lines. I also never felt the main characters of Rick and Veronica became anything more than 2 dimensional and most of the characters were quite stereotypical. Other less important characters pop in and out of almost no where and there is really no reason for them or any real development, so they are rather forgettable. I'm all for suspension of disbelief - but you need to give me something as foundation to believe it.
I can see people enjoying this book as a nice easy romance/action read - but I wouldn't expect too much, otherwise you might be just a little underwhelmed.

If you're marrying someone who works in the FBI, that person is going to understand things like confidentiality, sensitive information, and the importance of not blabbing everything ever heard. If you still think you can't trust them to not be stupid enough to announce "HEY, I MARRIED A SPY" then maybe you should find someone a little less challenged. Also, why wouldn't the wife know to not go somewhere completely predictable?
I love action romances and some of the situations in the book were cute and humorous. Mainly, though, I wondered about the intelligence of both main characters. It could've been an interesting premise but the whining, the plot holes, and the random skill sets (oh, sharpshooting skills? yeah, everyone can do that) just made the whole thing too implausible for me.

I bought this book because I read this author's other book and loved it. The plot was unique and the writing well done. A woman is approached on her wedding day by another mysterious woman who calls her new husband by another name. She starts to doubt whether she actually knows her husband and considers an annulment. Unfortunately before she can address the annulment they are gunned down which starts a turbulent adventure. The only part I didn't like was her brother who seemed like a male slut. I could have done without that detail. I would read other books by this author when she publishes them.

This thriller is yet again about a cutie pie superwoman who is living a normal life and then finds herself thrown into a situation where she has to fight criminals. She won't listen to anybody and stubbornly does her own thing and ends up saving the hero and beating the bad guys. I got heartily sick of her, so much so that I was not able to finish the book.
The writing is mediocre the story is mediocre and full of holes and the descriptions of the gunfights are very poor.
If you are looking for a very light read this would do but I have decided it was just a waste of time and even though I got it for nothing I probably would have been better not taking it all.

I wasn't expecting this book to be absolutely out of this world but it didn't disappoint. Didn't always like the main character (guy), he was a little frustrating but on the whole it wasn't a bad book at all.
