Now I’m getting ready to step out into the ballroom of the Four Seasons hotel and put myself on display. My dark hair falling in lustrous waves over bare shoulders, my skimpy dress and ridiculous heels I spent weeks practicing in, and a sexy attitude I also practiced, all in the hopes of catching Jonathon Townsend’s eye.
Six months ago, I hurled on my living room carpet.
Within minutes of that, I developed a plan for justice.
It’s taken me a long time to get here, but now today is the first day of the rest of my new life. It’s where I’m going to make things right for poor Sela Halstead.
I’m going to make him suffer and then I’m going to end him.
My nefarious plan is quite easy, at least to my way of thinking that admittedly might be colored by an overabundance of rage and an overwhelming need for retribution. After only a few hours of Internet research, I had all I needed to know about my rapist.
Jonathon Townsend, age thirty-two.
Attended Hillcrest Preparatory. Bachelor’s and MBA from Stanford.
Wealthy by birth. Spoiled by circumstance.
Launched The Sugar Bowl three years ago and made millions upon millions.
Playboy. Bachelor. Rapist.
Those are the basics, and I find it hilariously ironic that his own business is going to be my way in to him. My research on The Sugar Bowl was fastidious and there were dozens of articles about it. CNN even did a documentary about the revolutionary and unconventional website platform that hooked up Sugar Daddies with Sugar Babies.
Quite brilliant, actually.
Sugar Daddies are wealthy men, usually in their fifties and sixties, who are looking to regain their youth by dating much younger women. Beautiful women too. Now there are some more youthful Sugar Daddies, but they are few and far between and obviously in high demand. I wondered why the vast majority of Sugar Daddies were old enough to be grandfathers, but according to the CNN film, most wealthy men in their thirties and forties were trying out the family life with cute suburban wives and a passel of kids. It’s usually not until divorce hits and the resulting fat belly sets in that these guys start scrambling to prove their manhood. Statistically speaking, that most often happens in a man’s late forties after the kids are grown and the wife doesn’t give it up anymore.
The Sugar Bowl makes all of this easy for these poor, ignored men by providing a database of willing Sugar Babies.
Sugar Babies are young women, usually between eighteen and twenty-six, although some can be a bit older. CNN says the average age is actually twenty-two, and that’s because most Sugar Babies are joining as a means to get their college tuition paid. At twenty-six, I’m stretching the outer limit of the normal range, but my face is very youthful and I could pass for twenty if I wanted.
While most sugarships—that’s a combination of “sugar” and “relationships”—are formed through introductions facilitated through the Web database, much like some of the popular dating sites, The Sugar Bowl also hosts regional parties where the Daddies and the Babies can mix, mingle, and have face-to-face time to see if there are any common bonds.
What’s the typical “sugarship” look like?
Well, there’s actually a written contract. In a signed agreement, all expectations are laid out. The Sugar Daddy clearly defines what he wants from his Baby. It could be a live-in companion or someone to travel with. It could be as simple as just a weekly dinner date. In return, the Daddy promises the Baby certain things. That could be money, tuition expenses, a car, expensive jewelry, whatever.
Bottom line: the Daddy pays for the Baby.
One thing you will never find in the agreement is an expectation to have sex. In fact, after I joined The Sugar Bowl two weeks ago, it was interesting to read their sample agreement online and find that it actually has a clause that “specifically prohibits discussion and/or agreement regarding sexual acts in exchange for monetary compensation and/or gifts.”
Squeaky-clean on its face, but as CNN showed during the documentary, sex is most often implied. Numerous former Sugar Babies were interviewed. Most of them were very happy with their experiences, having come out of college debt-free. Most of them also admitted that sex was a given and were unapologetic about having their expenses paid in return for a little roll between the sheets.
I find it sickening and repulsive, and yet . . . here I am. Getting ready to attend a San Francisco Sugar Bowl Mixer, and I have it on good authority from Jonathon Townsend’s secretary, Karla Gould, that he’s going to be here. I’m not the least bit ashamed that I researched and targeted her as an unwilling accomplice in my plans. I learned that she’s thirty-three, divorced, a single mom of three, and desperate for friends. I ultimately stalked her, forming a friendship after a “chance meeting” in her favorite coffee shop. That happened two months ago, and I played up my down-on-my-luck poor college student trying to pay for her master’s degree, which led to Karla suggesting The Sugar Bowl to me. While she’s too old and too overweight to be a marketable Baby, she had no problem with urging me in that direction, and I did a great acting job looking surprised at the suggestion, slightly dubious yet equally intrigued.
Karla was a good inside source, and I even once met her at her office for lunch and got a peek inside the great Jonathon Townsend’s empty office. I almost shuddered in ecstasy as I imagined jamming a letter opener through his eye and deep into his brain while he sat at his desk and computed his millions.
My plan is simple, and as such, will involve a great deal of luck.
I am going to try to catch Jonathon Townsend’s attention tonight. It’s well-known that he prefers blondes, but it’s also well known he prefers big tits, and I have a set of those. My blond hair is not an option, because I don’t want him to recognize me.
I don’t think he will, because I have learned in my research that he’s an egomaniac. I also learned that he screw a lot of blondes and I have to imagine all of our faces blend together. While I can’t be sure, I’m betting on his cocky arrogance and the fact it probably had him forgetting about me even before the semen in my hair dried that night.
Rage sparks, froths, and bubbles low in my gut as I think about it.

Sela Halstead has a mission. Not to take back what is hers, because that can never be returned or mended, but to wholeheartedly destroy the man who destroyed her life. Who she is, is not who she was meant to be. She is a ghost of herself, living day to day until the man who stole the sparkle from her eye flashes across her TV. Sela knows what she has to do. The only thing that may make her feel alive again... But she wasn't counting on Beckett. JT's business partner, and best friend. Nothing could have prepared her for the true feeling of living again that Beckett brings out in her. But has she lost sight of what she came here to do, or will she find a renewed sense of revenge despite the new life she's been given?
Everything about this book gripped me. Sela is a character that you want to cheer for so badly. You need her to be happy, but she has this side to her that you will understand, but want her to fight so badly. Then there's Beckett. I feel so desperately in book-love with him. But in the end no one in this book is perfect, but that's what made it so real and intense. Of course, Ms. Bennett takes so liberties with the dramatics, but again, that's what makes it fiction, and mind-blowing fiction, at that. But between Sela, Beckett and JT you vaguely know who to root for, but they all toe the line at times. What this book will leave with is a hurting heart and tears. It's a doozy of a cliffhanger, but I. LOVED. IT. If you hate cliffhangers, you HAVE be warned. Though I'd just say embrace it. Take this rollercoaster book on for all it's worth, because I can guarantee you, you'll be left gasping for more, but you'll also have found a new favorite read. So, obviously I recommend this book. To everyone. It really shouldn't be missed.

I was actually kind of confused when they introduced her father into the mix since he was absent the first half of the book leaving the reader to assume he either passed or they have no relationship. And what father would be so cavalier about their daughter dating a pimp (yes, Beck and TJ are pimps)?
I didn't care for how little we see of the ways the gang rape impacted Sela and her desire for revenge gets so muddied in this book I forgot she even sought revenge.
Beck's reaction to her revelation about TJ was so out of character. He's this loving guy to Sela and then all of a sudden becomes an uncaring jerk? Come on.
I won't be purchasing the last two books because this all could have been wrapped up in one book.
I know this book/series has been out for a couple of years but better late than never as they say. From the disturbing prologue, to the ending which had me gasping, I was fully intrigued and engaged. Not only is this read damn HOT between the sheets, but the storyline had me flipping pages non-stop. I need to know more NOW and will be starting Pt2 immediately!
Not only did the storyline intrigue me with its semi-dark theme (nothing brutal or too hardcore but I can't say more) but also the characters. I haven't read a book in sometime where the characters really appealed to me like both Sela and Beck did. Even J.T although i hate his guts, his appearance is always tense but interesting. Sela's maturity, outlook and reasoning within herself were refreshing and nice to experience for a change. I love both Beck and Sela together, they are truly made for each other even of they come from totally different lifestyles? The ending as I said had me gasping 😰
I can't believe Beck reacted so harshly but he has a secret too and I can't friggin wait to find out all the juicy details!
If you haven't read this book yet, it's definitely time you do! Yes, there is A LOT of sex, but it's good sex, plus the story is just as equally good...

With revenge on her mind, Sela sets out to infiltrate his world and exact her revenge but doesn't factor in an unlikely complication in the shape of his sexy business partner Beckett North, who makes her feel things she didn't think possible. With the secret lurking between them will Sela be able to follow through or will Beckett distract her?
To be honest I found this book by accident and when I one clicked it for 49p I wasn't really expecting much from it. I had never heard of the author before, so didn't know what the expect. The cover is too pretty and the blurb made the book seem like it was right up my street but for that price, how good could it really be?
Let me tell you I found myself shocked beyond all expectations! This book is simply AMAZING. Once I had started it I couldn't put it down. It's one of those reads that you wish won't end and when it does, you are left feeling bereft and wanton. It is an utterly addictive read right from the start.
I am so glad I found this book, I am now stalking the author as I wait for the next installment. I make no apologies for this as Sawyer Bennett is a truly talented author, one that I can't believe I am only just discovering. She has managed to create a strong plot full of revenge, drama and a whole of lot of lovin'.
This book is the first in a new series and ends with a cliffhanger and what a cliffhanger it is! I actually screamed as I read the last sentence but don't worry, book two is just around the corner and book 3 won't be long after that!
Go on, if you haven't already read it, what are you waiting for? Go grab your copy now!!
I have given it 5 sugary stars.

it was amazing
Read from July 31 to August 02, 2016
I love Sawyer Bennett, she never lets me down with her books, always just a bit of mystery or secrets all wrapped up in a powerful story to keep you on the edge of your seat. This is no exception, Beck is a strong alpha male, in control of his life and the business he shares with his best friend. His friend is hiding a dark and vicious side that Beck has no clue about. Sela on the other hand knows only to well what he gets up to, she is out to get her own back. This is just part one of a triple and it does end on a cliff hanger, but I feel it is worth the effort of reading all three. There is love, suspense and angst a plenty to keep you interested and glued to the pages in this first installment, all I need now is the second book before I read the third. The concept of Sugar Daddy is different from normal dating or escort sites, I suppose in some ways it is more honest in the way the men and women are up front about what they want out of it. I enjoyed it a lot.
Probably each of us perceives books differently.
We have a different level of humour, ethics, and things we like or don't like.
I got Sela's need for revenge but i do think she was going about it in the wrong way. Maybe find something illegal, catch him doing something dodgy, not just go in for the kill, literally.
I'm undecided on whether i want to continue the series.
I can't predict this at all which I love, I'm torn, yes Sela needs justice, but at what cost???
Is Beck really the good guy, some things are questionable, but to what extent?
A gripping read you won't put down, highly recommended
