What a wonderful story. A bittersweet tale. When my father died I had many of the thoughts & experiences David & Judy shared. I got to know my father as a person separate from me. When Suzannah died, I had to cry. Just reading it made me relive that moment with Dad.

Very touching and extremely moving. I cannot really imagine the pain and suffering all endured. I pray we never relive such horrors.

This story was an okay historical fiction novel but not great. For the cost I would read it again. I never felt like the characters were very well developed. I couldn't buy into their stories.

This book was about a few Nazi Officers who gave packets of sugar to little Jewish children during World War 2. It is a very disturbing but important story that should never be forgotten by the world. We must always remember the horror of war.

I thought the first 3/4 of the book was riveting, describing conditions in Bergen Belsin, but as the books arc descended it needed to end, but didn't.

The story is old, but it never ceases to shock you. The horrific concentration camps in Germany during WW2 and in this book, the affect of those camps on a survivor. Well told--very difficult to imagine how anyone could survive.

Compelling story of life in a concentration camp. Amazing tale of survival and courage under unimaginable conditions. The lifelong impact feels understandable and so pervasive. Susannah somehow prevails and creates a full.life beyond the war

A really great story that explores the reasons for people's strength and decisions to survive, and the unexpected kindness of people (the prison guard) during this rather bleak and sad part of our history.

Ray Fisherking has created a revelation of insight to a period of time that easily could be buried. Emotion, thought and humility bring a sincere awareness to the hell on earth many Jews faced through Hitler's reign of hatred.

If a story about the Holocaust can be touching, that is. The atrocities these individuals faced very day were indescribable, and their will to survive is what keeps them going. I cried for Susannah and all of the victims. I cheered for the allies when they were rescued. I could not imagine how difficult their life would be after their rescue. Thank you for this story, which will stay with me for a long time to come.
