Suicide Mission was my very first novel by Sara Schoen and I must say I was intrigued! Right as the book started, I knew that there was going to be a lot of action coming my way as I turned the pages. Sure enough, I was right.
Sara had been - unknowingly - training to become a thief. Now, all fake, of course. You see, she'd be a part of a secret government group working undercover. Her position had been occupied by people that had either left or died while on the job, so those training her were a bit hesitant towards bringing her on this soon. Especially since she didn't even know she had been training to become a thief.
Once she's on board, the last thing anyone expected was for Sara to get caught on her very first mission. The things she has to do in order to survive lead her to discover things she thought she knew...like the truth behind her family's death. This, in turns, leads Sara to need more answers. She needs to know why her family had been targeted like that, and worse, killed.
Being undercover in the actual Cartel was even harder than anyone imagined. Hearing about the plans to kill other families didn't sit well with Sara.
A lot of twists and turns, ups and downs throughout this action-packed novel. While this is not my typical kind of book, it sure kept me hooked. FOUR STARS. Check out Suicide Mission by Sara Schoen!
Trying to take her own life, Sara is at her lowest of lows. But then something unexpected happens. She finds out that she's been "training" for a secret agency and now they want to bring her in as an agent who specializes in thievery.
Now she faces a huge danger, perhaps a mission that most people would consider a suicide mission. But before that she must survive training, and she may prove to be her own biggest hindrance in learning the needed skills to carry out the mission.
Sara is determined to risk her life for a good cause now instead of lose her life to depression, which was a really uplifting change in the story.
I loved the book. It has so many twists and turns, and well drawn characters, it kept me entertained with every page. I loved Sara, her development as a character and person throughout the book. I love stories where you get to see someone fall and then rise, and Sara is the kind of character you can't help relating with and rooting for every step of the way. I loved the other characters to, but Sara was favorite so far.
I'm so excited to read the rest of the series!!!
Sara Night's new life is a crazy adventure. She's learning new things, experiencing new things, and getting herself in dangerous situations. Reading the book, you can't help but cheer her on. "Don't do that!" "Come on, you can do it!" and my personal favorite, "Stop talking!" She has to make hard decisions and make the best out of bad situations, but she doesn't lose her good intentions and her quick wit. I'm not sure the entire thing is 100% realistic, but the story line was really creative and the book was a great read. I couldn't put it down and I can't wait to read more into this series.

Suicide Mission tells the story of Sara Night, whose family was killed in a car accident years ago. She’s taken in by a new family and tries to move on with her life, but the events from that tragic night continue to haunt her. Sara then gets a chance to do something useful with her life when she’s recruited by an agency. With her skills and training, they use her to bring down a cartel, but on the night of her mission things don’t go as planned, and Sara learns the truth about the car crash that took her family.
The premise of the story was good and as I was reading it, I felt myself being drawn into a movie or a TV show as the plot unfolded. The action scenes were very well-detailed and there was lots of suspense throughout the story as you wondered what would become of Sara. All the characters were written perfectly to suit their personalities. Sara is someone you connect with as she struggles with her past and the conflict of her new life at the agency.
I did notice a few grammar errors in the book, for instance there were some part where you’re was used when it should’ve been your. Also, towards the beginning of the book, I felt the pacing was a bit slow, especially during Sara’s training, but once the mission started that’s when the story started to pick up.
Aside from that Suicide Mission is a good, action-packed story with suspense.
