This volume, and a companion "Sudoku on the Half Shell" both offer different Sujiken puzzles of varying difficulty (easy, intermediate, challenging, difficult, monster) from the creator/author. Both contain an Introduction with a step-by-step guide for completing an easy-level puzzle. These walk-throughs include typical solving strategies, but unlike an example I noticed on the [...] website, they only include separate diagrams accompanying SOME of the entries into the triangular grid so solvers could keep track. Would have liked a more uninterrupted flow of these diagrams, so as not to have to keep cross-referencing while following along. Listings of cell-fill values are given with many of the solutions in this book, which actually tell the answers if you want to peek, but set in a format to allow not having to look at the solved grid itself.
I would also have liked to see a walk-through for a higher-level puzzle, such as "Challenging" or "Monster", as all these puzzles, though similar on sight, can be quite different once started. Easy puzzles are "easy" enough; we need strategy for slaying the dragons.
This book also lists in its intro pages other Sujiken volumes: one for each difficulty level, as well as one for kids, but (as of February 2012) Amazon doesn't appear to have them, after I did a few searches, only these two.
