-Nicely made pieces. Everything feels well made. The board and case for the tokens are sturdy feeling plastic, and the tokens are wood with the numbers clearly printed on them. The soft sided storage case is very well made, nicely padded, actually higher quality than I think is necessary.
-The tiny numbered tokens are so helpful when playing sudoku! I was originally drawn to the Colorku game, but there's no way to mark the spots if you aren't sure which piece goes in them. The tiny tokens in this game work great, you can fit quite a few into each well. So far I've only done a few of the simpler puzzles, but haven't run out of the tiny tokens.
-The tokens fit nicely in the indentations on the board and are easy to handle.
-The instructions come with 100 sudoku puzzles, handy!
-The plastic case for the tokens really needs to latch. It doesn't. The lid just sort of clips on, and it isn't very secure.
-It can be difficult to tell some of the colors apart, specifically the colors of the 5 and 7 tokens (green and turquoise), and 6 and 8 (very dark blue and dark blue). It would have been better if they had made, say, baby blue instead of dark blue, and white instead of green.
-This is VERY petty, but may bother some people who are really detail oriented. The font on all of the numbers isn't the same! 4 and 9 are a different font from the other numbers and it's especially noticeable when comparing 6 and 9 since you'd think they'd look the same, just inverted. 6 is done in a large, swoopy font to match the others, and 9 is in a very plain font like 4. I'm embarrassed to admit this does bother me.
-Not sure this is a con per se since I knew it didn't come with this, but a clear plastic lid to go over the board would be REALLY handy. I have cats and kitties are drawn to things like this. If you have cats and want to play a game, you really need to do the whole thing in one sitting. For as much as this game costs, I think it should have come with a lid for the board. Maybe even a nice, latching lid instead of the fancy padded case.
-The instructions are super flimsy. Very thin paper, and minimal instructions for the games. I'd have expected something nicer with this set, especially since users will presumably look at the instructions frequently so they can set up new sudoku games.
Complaints aside, I like this. For some reason it's much more enjoyable to me to use this set than to do Sudoku on paper or my iPad. It's just satisfying moving around the little tokens. I also like that I can play sudoku with my husband, or try the other games suggested in the instructions. Have to admit I'm glad this was a gift because I'd be a little let down with what I'd received if I had purchased it with my own money.
