About the Author
After leaving Tennessee and an abusive marriage, Penny Fletcher loaded her three young children, $300, and everything they owned into a 12-year old rust-bucket Ford and headed for a friend’s house in Florida. At first, she survived by running 24-hour convenience stores, managing motel offices, and driving a delivery truck. In addition, she wrote both fiction and nonfiction for national magazines including True Story and True Romance. For the last 40 years she’s been an award-winning columnist, news writer, editor and coach... having amassed more than 14,000 bylines. She now writes books about the people she’s met along the way who face choices between bad and worse and the tremendous faith, grit and perseverance it takes to climb out of their situations. Penny tours the country presenting a class at local colleges and library systems: “Writing Page-Turning Fiction.” She now lives in Tampa Bay, with her Bassett Hound, Karmel, some of her human family, and the hundreds of characters who live in her head. There are good guys and bad guys peeking in every so often to spice up the story but the author controls what is happening and keeps it on track.
I really liked all three main characters and was hard pressed to decide what would be the best ending before I got there. Penny worked it out well left me hoping she writes more about these characters. The book is a stand alone story but it left me wanting more, In my judgement' this is the definition of a good book, make them want more but don't force them to read another book to get to the ending.
In the book a camera is sent into a black hole!! Who comes up with ideas like that?
She also schooled me in the Sumerian texts!!
