I really hesitated between this changing pad and a few pricier ones on the market. As a new mom, I'm guilty of always wanting to buy the BEST everything for my baby--even if that sometimes means spending over 100 dollars on a changing pad my daughter will lay on for less than 5 minutes at a time to get her butt wiped (yes, I'm thinking of the Keekaroo Peanut Diaper Changer). But most times I listen to that voice in my head laughing hysterically at me for falling prey to marketing. I then searched around a little more and saw that this changing pad was incredibly affordable and had good reviews, so I decided to go for it. And, honestly, I couldn't be happier. It's safe, comfortable, fits perfectly on top of our $60 Ikea changing table, and there are PLENTY of adorable, affordable diaper covers that fit out there (I recommend getting at least two covers, so when one's in the wash, the other's on the pad.) Zero complaints. Get it.

I'm not crazy about this changing pad. I purchased the davinci pad and loved it but I needed something cheaper for my inlaws. Compared to the difference in both, it's like day and night. I thought it wouldn't matter much since my baby will only be on the pad for a moment, but sure enough he can tell the difference instantly. This pad doesn't have much support and cushioning for his back or his head and he hates it. I had to put a small pillow in order to make it tolerable for him. If I have known, I would have just spent few more dollars to get a better one than to deal with him struggling to get off constantly. It's hard enough to try to change him something and to add an additional reason, just makes it worse. Do yourself a favor and look for something better. Cheap is something good but not when it makes your job harder as a parent.

Considering so many changing pads are pretty darn expensive, I love that this one is super affordable and I can't really tell the difference from the other more expensive versions on the market. The fabric is kinda plastic-y feeling, so it doesn't absorb any grossness that might occur during diaper changes and it wipes clean. I like the safety strap feature for extra peace of mind when dealing with a wiggly baby. Mine didn't have a weird chemical smell at all, so not sure what the other reviewers are talking about there....maybe I just got lucky or they changed materials since then. Overall, I think it's a great value.

I was worried to get this pad after reading some reviews, but for the price I decided to try it and I'm glad I did. I had no issues with out gassing as some of the reviewers did. I also didn't have a problem with the water proof aspect. Yes there is a stamped design on the pad resulting in tiny holes, however they are so tiny that the surface tension (guess that science class paid off) doesn't allow for anything to get through. I poured water on it when it arrived and tried to push the water in, squished the pad, and left the water sitting on it all day. The water slowly evaporated off the pad but none of it got inside the pad. It has a strap for attaching it to the wall and a buckle for baby! I use the room 365 counting sheep changing pad covers which are super cheap. But the buckles on this pad are just a bit bigger than the holes on the cover, but it was an easy fix for me. All in all a good pad for us and we are very glad we got it!

The PRODUCT itself is nice, and is exactly as pictured. It is not hard, but firm to the touch which is good for newborns. When you put weight on it it conforms, I can feel the styrofoam like memory foam when I put weight on it. So it should be comfortable for my son.
I am however very irritated with the packaging and shipping. I don't know if it was Amazon or FedEx, but I am NOT very happy about the giant tear and dents in the box! Amazon told me this would be here today and FedEx told me it was supposed to be here tomorrow. So I was already irritated about that. Then I get it today, finally, and it's a damaged package thrown on my door step?! I am very OCD and everytime I look at the changing pad my eyes are automatically drawn to the scratch that lifted and bubbled the plastic cover (not sure what it's called, it's like when you scrap a garbage bag on something and the plastic deforms and bubbles). The item wouldn't have been damaged if the box hadn't been damaged. I'm not happy that I wasted my gift card on something that showed up late (or on time, who knows?!) and damaged!
I give the 5 stars to the actual changing pad, NOT anything else.
Photos of the pad are attached, excuse my pregnant belly!

Good, high quality changing pad. I like that the lips on the side come up a little higher than the sides on my old changing pad and it makes me feel a little more safe with a squirming child. It is easy to wipe down and all of the changing pad covers I have used thus far fit perfectly. Good purchase and great price!

I don't know why you would spend more money for any other changing pad when this does the trick perfectly. We ended up buying two so that we would have one on each floor of the house. The curved edges work well for keeping the squirmy newborn from rolling around, but still obviously wise to make sure and not leave him unattended on there. We haven't used the strap to secure baby yet, but we did secure the end of the strap to the back of the dresser so that the pad wouldn't slip around.

You'll also want to buy some nice soft covers, though I'd highly recommend also getting the waterproof pads to put on top, especially if you have a baby boy who likes to make a big mess. The bigger the waterproof pad the better so be sure to pay attention to measurements when comparing.

I compared the size of this product to the one I already own, and it appeared they should be the same size, 16x32, so I was assuming all of my changing pad covers would work on this. Not the case, it seems to be a couple inches longer and my PB changing pad covers do not fit this thing, when they are designed for a 16x32 pad... I haven't pulled a tape measure out to see which one lies about the size, but I'm guessing it's this one since it is the odd one out. Looks like a great changing pad, but disappointed about the size discrepancy.

Yes, some of them do have a residual smell and it does stink if you put your nose to it. I let it air out and it's fine now. It's a nice pad. I think it's the right 'plushness' as it's not too soft that you can't do anything with it but not too hard that the poor child is freaking out.

I sewed my own cover for it by just tracing it on extra fabric I had. Any spills and I just wash the cover and wipe that sucker off, I appreciate how easy it is to clean. Fits well in my changing table and I like the contoured sides. Good price for it being new.

Update:
After using this for 4 months, here's what I've noticed
-It gets much softer after being used for a while, but still keeps its shape

-If you don't have a cover and use it, be careful of getting anything from the diaper on it. The texturing has a design of tiny circles that are depressed and baby messes easily get in them and will dry without you knowing. They're small enough to where you can't get it clean with a wet wash cloth unless you really scrub. It's a little irritating because I don't see it being dirty initially and then I have to spend about 10 minutes cleaning it up.

But, it still is great to have, it fits nicely on the changing table and gives my baby enough comfort during changings.

This was very good value for money. The pad is both firm enough but also soft for the baby. The padding was thicker than I expected, which is a big plus. It fits perfectly on the changing table we purchased and was the exact measurement as advertised. Our changing table sheets also fitted very well on this pad. Friends have also remarked at the quality and asked where we purchased this. I would definitely recommend.
