This is a GREAT little Travel bed! I had a similar one back in the 80's and I never left home without it. I have been looking for one like I had, for my daughter's new baby, and this is very similar in style and portability, but has a lot of improvements over mine. IT COMES with a sheet!!! (although any bassinet sheet will fit too). It has the little toy arch, it has little ventilation windows which I think is much better than the big mesh sides that some of the portable beds have (keeps it still private and quiet so baby isn't distracted by goings on around him as much, yet there is good airflow too). Nice neutral colors...and big and roomy, bigger than the one I had. It also doubles as a changing table. If you feel like sitting under a tree in the park, or stopping at a friend's house, there is always a clean, safe place to let your baby take a nap or to change it diaper right next to you. Then fold it up, throw the strap over your shoulder and off you go. You can even stuff a few diapers, a recieving blanket and some baby wipes inside of it and get by without a diaper bag for short visits. No "on the move" mom should be without one of these!

This travel bed is great for newborns and small infants.

Once your child starts rolling over though, you'll need something else.
Our daughter will now roll right out of this travel bed, so setting it on the floor is imperative.

It was great the first 4-5 months though. It folds up compactly, and is easy to put in the car when we visit grandparents or friends. Works great for nap time, or when we're staying out past her bedtime and she's ready to go down. The shoulder strap makes it easy to cary the car seat, diaper bag, and the travel bed all at once.

I actually just ordered a PeaPod to replace this bed, so we can zip her in there and not worry about her rolling away.

I bought this for a trip we're taking this week and we tested it out at home first. It does fold up nicely, which is great, and it will fit in the suitcase no problem. I like that aspect of it. My son seemed to like sleeping in it - well - I say like, but what I mean is he didn't protest. We probably won't use it for too long though for the following reasons:

1. The material is flimsy. Where it attaches to the velcro has already ripped on the seam. It's not anywhere my son can chew it, and it doesn't look like it will fall apart there, but I can't see it sustaining several months of abuse by an infant.

2. The little toy hanger is cute, but it, too, is pretty flimsy. It comes out easily... easily enough for my son to kick it down onto himself. Probably he won't have it there for sleeping.

3. Our son is nearly 5 months old, 24 inches and 13 pounds - not a big baby for his age. And yet, he'll likely outgrow this by the time he's 6 months - his feet are nearly touching the end. We'll probably have to bring the pack-n-play for the next trip if he gets any taller.

This travel bed is definitely ideal for travel: it is light, portable, and very compact. However, it's not possible to have it all: The materials used, especially those for the pad, are a little too thin, and there is a ridge in the middle of the pad due to the pad being folded in half. We have used the American Baby Company 100% Cotton Value Jersey Knit Fitted Portable/Mini Sheet, Ecru to cover the pad.

Also note that the bed is only rated for infants up to 15 pounds. After your baby exceeds this weight, the travel bed can be used as a cat bed... see photos. :)

I was worried about my baby wanting to lay down since he was going to be carried on the airplane. It was perfect for lay overs and waiting at the terminal. The bar with the toys doesn't really stay in place since he goes crazy with them, but it was still fantastic. I'm glad we bought it.

Ordered this for my (back then) newborn baby for a 3 week trip we took. It was very easy to set up & fit perfectly in my luggage. It is lightweight so you don't have to worry about going over your luggage weight limit at the airport. My son is now 6 months & in the 97th percentile so he definitely outgrew it but we were able to use it for other small trips up until he was about 4 months.

This was used at grandma and grandpa's house until our daughter grew out of it. It did serve its purpose, but not very well. It's super flimsy, so the toy bar doesn't really stay upright, and if your child rolls around a lot, they could roll right out of it. My parents surrounded it with pillows when our daughter was sleeping in it.

I threw in a second star because it's not in any way unsafe, but there is zero point to this product. Once your baby can roll it is totally ineffective, and if they can't roll, they can easily sleep safely just about anywhere. A play mat or, heck, a towel would be just as good and likely more comfortable. And while this item folds down, it is not super compact for travel.

A total waste of $60 when you can get an entire Pack 'N Play for that price.
