For those who want a more detailed review, here we go! So, starting with the look of the gate, it is less like a infant/dog gate and more like a tiny garden gate. We use it on our stairs so that when we're away it ensures the dogs don't find themselves a fancy new potty spot or new pair of underwear to toss around. It is important to note that this gate has a door for a reason, it is not the traditional lightweight wooden and white plastic baby gate, this thing is STURDY. It's very high quality metal that requires an (pretty easy) installation. So its not something you'd want to buy if you're looking to take a gate up and down as it would be way too cumbersome for that.
Although we don't have to worry about tiny hands trying to open the gate door, I'm sure that's the reason many of you are interested in this product, and I'll tell you it is really well designed for that function. It has three different childproof mechanisms, the first is that you have to slide a tab over at the top of the gate to release the door latch, the second is that you have to actually lift up on the door itself for it to open at all, and the third is that it is spring loaded with a pretty sizable spring force in order to close the door behind you. While I love the first two mechanisms because they have been added in a way that doesn't add any visual bulk to the gate, it's the third one that concerns me. This is why it lost a star- as I said it really does have a sizable force behind the spring and this thing will SLAM shut. So in the (albeit unlikely) instance of any little fingers making their way in there, it wouldn't end well, and as unlikely as it may be with the first two precautions, trouble like that just seems to follow kids around so you might as well take it into consideration.
Overall this product gets 4 stars but I would certainly recommend it for its sturdy construction and the way it blends into our home without looking like a cheap baby gate. The spring loaded door return is too intense for my comfort and makes a loud slam when you go through if you don't hold and close it behind you. That being said, I'm really glad we bought this because its definitely the best thing going as far as its function and design.

By design, a fair amount of pressure needs to be applied at the mounting points both to properly align the gate latch and to ensure that the gate is held firmly in place. By the time all of the extensions are installed and sufficient pressure has been applied at the mounting points, however, the entire gate assembly buckled/bowed.
I’ve included two pictures. In the first picture I’m using my foot to hold the gate in position and prevent it from buckling. In the second picture, I have removed my foot and you can see how badly it bowed.
I returned it. It’s a bummer, but it’s simply unusable with the extensions.
I was also worried that it wouldn't work well because it has a 48in max and my doorway is 48in but it fit fine. It wasn't even extended as far as it could go, so it would probably even fit well with 49 or even 50 inches.
The included wrench wasn't much help. Channel locks would be better.
Opening the gate takes two steps, slide and lift. My 2 year old son figured out how to open our Expansion Swing Wide Gate, which is press and lift, but I think it will be a while before he masters this one.
The color is nice. It looks more expensive than it is. The arched gate adds a nice look, even if it isn't centered when using all of the expander panels. The instructions stipulate it sits to one side.
It says "auto-lock" but it's doesn't for me. I probably just don't have it perfectly lined up. If I push it hard, it will lock on the bottom, but I have to press the top button to shut it. No biggie. UPDATE: I guess it "settled" because it auto-closes, now.
I didn't want to install it above my baseboard because I didn't want to trip on the threshold. Time will tell if the pressure will hold or if I will have to invest in a drill to install the included hardware.
The bar spacing is very narrow. It's 2" BUT the corners on the expanders are nearly 4"x4", so I could see small cats or small puppies fitting.
I was tempted to get a fabric gate and step over it. I'm glad I didn't. It would have been an accident waiting to happen, even if it was half the price.
One of the reviewers called the gate narrow, but I'm not a small person (5'8", size 14-16) and I don't have to turn sideways at all.
Mine separates my living/beds/baths from my dining/kitchen/garage, so we use it a LOT. Old style pressure gates with the arm would have been too cumbersome to take down and put up several times a day.
For kids who can open other latch gates, for mediaum to large pets, for high traffic areas, and for families on a budget - this is the best bet.
I read reviews for hours, settled on this one, and I'm happy with it. I will update the day that changes, if it ever does.

BTW it's a lift and push button, when set up tightly. You can set it up loosely and avoid the button. We use it working both directions.
So we got it to keep our cats away from the front door of our house and surprisingly they haven't thought to jump over it once in 10 weeks.
