The story is about a young woman, Darcy. She fell in love at the tender age of 12 when she spent a summer with slightly older young man, Snow. At summer's end he left and she never saw him again. Not until 10 years later when he sees her at a funeral. In all that time Darcy never stopped thinking about him, and although she dated, no man ever compared to him. She is shocked when she sees him at the funeral and can't believe how much he's matured, and how buff he now is. She is happy to see him but also angry about the way they separated all those years ago so she doesn't know whether to hit him or hug him.
Snow is now a successful businessman and on seeing Darcy finds himself at least to begin with very much in lust with her. What follows is the story or how their relationship goes forward, or backwards, but along with it there develops a big twist in the story, one that this reader did NOT see coming.
I thoroughly enjoyed the book, the twists and turns were brilliant because they were so unsuspected. The relationship between Darcy and Snow was a passionate one and the sex scenes in the book were well written, not full of obscenities designed to shock the reader, just good descriptive, hot, passionate, lusty love making. I love the back stories to the characters, and how they develop throughout the book. If you like your books with some mystery, some romance, and some hot moments, then this book is for you. I am really looking forward to reading the next books in the series. As far as I am concerned, the writer can't write them quickly enough. I am not normally a fan of contemporary novels, but in this instance, and for this series, I am definitely happy to make an exception.
