About the Author
Since leaving the convent after 11 years as a Catholic nun and teacher of English and music, Karen Leahy has held positions as activist, speaker, vocalist, music teacher, assistant to prominent religious leaders and event planner. She is a senior editor at Dunton Publishing, a freelance writer and editor and sometimes poet. Though she has helped others write their biographies, The Summer of Yes is her first book. An Ohio native, Karen now lives close enough to New York City to enjoy its international culture, food, and energy.

She voiced many of my own thoughts and questions at the end.
I only gave 4 stars because I thought she went into a little too much detail at times. I really think this is a book you should read whether you are Catholic or not.
reading this book will have you smiling and celebrating Karen's courage and feeling Karen's encouragement as you say Yes to the wonder and spirit within you.
Saying "Yes" this summer has been a blast!
For me the part of her story that continues to make me ponder is the incredible change in her religious attitudes, not just toward Catholicism, but toward basic Christian beliefs in general. I realize that so many of us have experienced a transformation or a progression in our religious beliefs but Karen's journey is exceptional.
