Vince Staples Brings the Fire to Hip-Hop for 2015! MC's Beware!

Vince Staples is one of the most consistent young rappers to enter the game. Every project that he has released sounds different but good & said that it would be the same with his latest double album, "Summertime 06'". Usually when an album in Hip-Hop is released like this there is usually a lot of filler material but that is certainly not the case here. This album bangs the whole way through & I believe that it will age even better like a fine wine over time. Even the way he ends the album leaves you with no doubt that he will continue to release fire in the future. The bass is heavy, as to be expected from the west coast, but what isn't is the fact that he very lyrical as an MC. Not to say that the west doesn't have rhymes but this dude is a beast in the making. With No I.D. behind the boards you can't go wrong with the production. There have been quite a few dope releases for 2015 so far but this is easily at the top with the best of them. You are truly missing out if you don't give this album a spin.

This album might go down in history as a great hip-hop/rap album. I can press play and listen start to finish, ALL 20 tracks! Of course, I have my favorites, but I like them all. At one point, I have found myself itching to hear each song on the album. Give Vince a chance if you haven't already.

Vince proved he could make a great project with Summertime 06. The album is solid from start to finish and vince holds it down with no major features for the most part. A great new take on west coast gangster rap with a dark sound but also self aware and intellectual.

Vince Staples may be a problem. This man can spit and appears to be a student of the game. It was kinda bold for him to drop a double album as his debut. And its another case where this album could have been great if it was one disc and a few filler/veryaverage tks were cut. I'm new to him so I can't compare this to any of his other projects as of now. But I am impressed with this debut. The production is dark and adds an atmosphere or consistent vibe to the sound of this album. Its dark but it bumps also. No ID handled most of the beats. A cat from Cali rapping over beats from a cat from Chicago sounds different and this album lives up to that thought.

Absent: Bald materialism and radio hit chasing.

Present: Introspective internal and external conflicted realism.

Layered and straight ahead, he has a strong voice (literary) and a talent for delivery. This album is sharp and grounded.

Nach seinem Mixtape Stolen Youth mit MacMiller, und seiner Hell Can't Wait EP steht mit Summertime sein erstes Studio Album in den Startlöchern.
Klasse Beat's, tolle Feature's, und Producer wie No ID oder DJ Dahi finden Platz auf dem Album.
Mit dem Album sollte ihn nun auch der 'große Durchbruch' gelingen.
