From the manufacturer
Our engineers developed a way to reduce the metal-to-metal sound associated with aluminum tubing. Summit’s DeadMetal Sound Deadening Technology keeps the noise down by filling in critical parts of your stand with custom-engineered expanding foam. We know that every little bit of noise reduction goes a long way in keeping you concealed in the tree and that is why we spent years refining the DeadMetal Technology.
Summit’s QuickDraw cable retention system is an important innovation in climbing treestands. It is the fastest and quietest cable attachment system ever invented. Simply insert the cable into the bracket, adjust the cable to fit the tree diameter, pull the selected lug of the cable to the back of the bracket until the QuickDraw “trigger” automatically locks into place. No need to fumble with pins, knobs, nuts or bolts- and the attachment is safe and silent.
RapidClimb Stirrups are comfort-engineered and adjustable to fit any boot. Designed to keep your boot securely attached to the platform, the stirrups allow you to quickly climb to reach your desired height. Offered as a standard feature on all Summit climbing stands.
We use high-quality aluminum and SummitLokt Technology with precision welds for absolute rigidity and maximum strength. Every joint is “locked” into place before welding and each joint is designed so the stress on the weld is minimized. The result is a concealed, quiet, safe, and secure stand.

This is Where We Stand
What does it mean to climb? It means never settling. It means always pushing toward the next highest point. Because good will never be good enough if better still exists. It means knowing what it takes to reach the top of your game, and then trusting each step to get there. And when those steps lead you higher - to a new point of view - you will know that you have arrived. At the Summit.
This is the place you’ve chosen to make your stand – and we will stop at nothing to protect your position.
That means creating products that are quiet and lightweight. You might trek miles in the dark, taking every possible precaution along the way to remain undetected. And we will maintain your cover. It means safety. The true weight our products must carry is not just yours – it’s everything and everyone you care about. We will shoulder the load. It means comfort. When your target enters striking distance, the last thing on your mind should be your treestand or harness. We will help you take the shot without hesitation. Rising to these standards isn’t easy. But you won’t stand for anything less. There is a place where victory comes into focus and excuses fall to the wayside. That place is a Summit.
The 180 Max SD offers a bit more room and capacity for bigger hunters and those who just prefer some extra space. The height-adjustable Surround Seat lets you sit facing the tree or can be reversed with the seat against the tree. The premium quality precision welded aluminum extended top frame is ideal for tall hunters, yet keeps the weight down to a manageable 23 pounds. You will also have plenty of room to move around, the 180 Max shares the larger Titan platform. 350 pounds Maximum weight capacity.

It is insanely comfortable. I can sit in the stand all day. When it is windy and cold, I can bunker down in it and it has pockets that I put hand warms in. Heated seats :).
It is very easy to use. The instructions it comes with are junk, but it is so intuitive. Only takes five minutes to set up and be in the tree.
Secure and safe. I have never had it so much as shift on me while I'm in the stand, and it locks in very solid. It also comes with lots of safety equipment: harness, locking strap.
Quite. the stand makes ZERO noise in the tree. For me this was a main seller. No more will a creaking stand give your location away to deer.
Expensive. It cost a pretty penny.
Pockets are Velcro. Why any company would produce items for hunting with Velcro on them is beyond me. Although this feature is easily over come by tucking the flaps that cover the pocket into the pockets themselves.
For bow hunting, the front bar can get in the way. However, this bar makes a perfect gun rest and is great during the regular season.
It damages trees. This is true of all climber stands, but it should be mentioned. it is usually fine on older trees with thicker barks. Young elm, all birch, and most soft wood trees should be avoided if you don't want to see the marks or you care about the trees. if not, the world is your stand :)
I am very happy with this purchase. It cost a bit more than I wanted to pay, but I figure if I'm going to trust my life and safety thirty feet of the ground to a stand, I better get a good one. Being able to set up all over the place keeps the deer on their toes. I always felt that with my more permanent stands, the deer eventually became weary of them and avoided the areas altogether. Not any more; now they never know where I am coming from until it is too late. Because the seat is so comfortable, I can stay out for longer and move less. This stand has really taken my hunting to another level. If I had the option I would rate it 4.75 stars only because of the price.
There is a bungee cord that runs across the platform in front of the stirrups, supposedly to keep your feet from slipping out of the stirrups, but it seems like a horrible, horrible idea to put a tripwire across the climbing platform. All I can guess there is someone lost the platform when his feet slipped out, and sued them, and nobody has yet sued them over the bungee cord tripping them and making them fall out of the stand. I don't use it and I can climb just fine without it. Not sure why people complain about not being able to reach the stirrups. I'm normal height and have no problem with it. Maybe people are just putting the seat up too high for their legs to reach the stirrups. You do need to be careful to not put the stirrups too far forward, because if you do you won't get good leverage for tilting the platform so you can pull it up the tree. I'm considering removing the stirrups and just putting my boots through the frame to pull it up.
On the plus side, it climbs nicely and it sits very stable when you use the included tree strap to tighten it up to the tree. The stand is roomy.
Assembly instructions are really pretty bad. The manufacturer tried to do one set of instructions for all their climbers in one manual, and it just made a mess. They should have a separate set of instructions for each model.
Bottom line is that it's a good stand once you tweak it a little, but for the price they should not have skimped on backpack strap, cushion ties, and documentation.
