First, let me say sitting on a stand from a distance you won't notice the imperfections and it does look neat. However, it was cheaper than other models and you get what you pay for. I've attached several pictures. The gift box came smashed. It arrived in an Amazon bag and the gift box was rattling around inside the bag. The ball itself has a very visible seam all the way through it. There are also air bubbles around some of the planets. It is solid and it did survive the smashed box so overall it seems sturdy. I would not purchase again but I'm not completely disappointed. Only slightly disappointed, like a bad hair cut.
