Dispense in hand and apply to body. We recommend working from head to toe so you don't accidentally miss a limb. If you need help reaching your back, ask a friend— that's what they're for. Apply liberally and allow it to absorb, waiting at least 30 minutes before sun exposure. Reapply at least every two hours. Apply more frequently after swimming/sweating, or after an aggressive towel dry. Always offer to share.

Bad batch or what?!

I’ve used this before and always liked it and have never had trouble...BUT this last batch must have been bad as my whole family is burnt horribly. We reapplied numerous times throughout the day but are scorched, and we used it within a few days of delivery, so wasn’t old and sitting around on our side. I’m including a few pictures showing some of us in my family....not a fun post beach day, we are in pain. What happened to the quality, was it sitting in the warehouse too long, wrong temp....not cool!! Loved before but after this not sure I can ever trust it again.

Great for my legs but not my face

The scent is very nice but I can't use it on my face. It makes my eyes water and burn. I thought it was an allergy to something else and I tried it again the next day, same thing - watery eyes and a burning feeling. And no, I didn't get it in my eyes! After washing it off my face it was fine. I can use it for my legs but have to use Neutrogena on the face. Same issue when my husband tried it, burning eyes.

Kept Me Safe From the Hawaii Sun!

My husband and I went to Hawaii on our honeymoon. Few things to note:
1. I am a PASTY white girl who freckles and burns before ultimately having a tan. The sun is my mortal enemy.
2. I HATE sunscreen that isn’t a spray (normally).
3. I have VERY sensitive skin that hates most sunscreens.

This. Sunscreen. Is. The. Best.
Easy to apply, easy to rub in and doesn’t feel greasy, and I actually really like the smell. My husband, who tans in 5 minutes, also really liked it. We would apply consistently during the days at the beach and neither of us burned at all! Best decision I ever made.

Note: DO RE-APPLY. This ain’t a sunscreen you can just rub and go. It needs to settle into your skin, and you need to reapply every 2 hours.

New favorite sunscreen!

This is far and away the worst sunscreen I have ever used. I am a sunscreen fanatic and I was very excited due to the good reviews and that it was paraben free, reef safe, vegan, etc.
Our family went to Maui a couple weeks ago and I am militant about sun coverage due to a familial fear of skin cancer, so thank goodness I had everyone wearing rash guards and hats/sunglasses any time we were out of the water because this sunscreen did absolutely ZERO for protection. Everywhere that wasn't covered by our rashguards had the deepest darkest sunburns even though we reapplied every hour! I don't know the last time I had a sunburn and my husband never burns. In fact we were on another island a few months ago for an event and had no sun problems due to using different sunscreen. This time we were in so much pain we had to stay away from the sun for the next 24 hours and missed a day of a vacation we had saved and waited for for 2 years. Not to mention now I'm worried about skin cancer from such large and deep burns!
The other family we went with was using a different sunscreen with no problems so we bought that and never had another problem with burns the rest of the trip (other than the burns we got using Sun Bum). Even though Sun Bum was pricey and I had purchased multiple bottles we threw them away! I will NEVER use them again!
On a sidenote, we did discover that Maui Vera (which Amazon sells but we found on the island) worked amazingly well to soothe the sunburns as well as apple cider vinegar mixed with water in a spray bottle.
Seriously, still mad about this sunscreen!!!

I was really excited to try this product because of all the great reviews. Unfortunately, I was disappointed. I need to put the lotion on, let it dry then rub it in again because of the weird residue it leaves after a few minutes.

Bad bad bad if you get it in your eyes

I will say, it does a great job. I’m very fair skinned. Red hair, very white unless I tan (which I do get a base tan before I go on vacation. It takes me about 4 months to get a good base tan without burning lol) I don’t ever burn with sun bum. BUT...Do...Not...get it in your eyes! Oh...my...gosh. With it being hypoallergenic, paranormal free, “supposedly” reef safe with less harsh chemicals I thought I’d be okay. I guess I’d been being careful because I’ve used it two summers no problem (new bottles), but this year holy cow! It took about 6 or so hours of swimming to get it to stop burning. It happened to my husband the day before and I was like ooookay, I’ve been using this for a long time and it’s never burned my eyes (*eye roll here*). My eyes got swollen, but I couldn’t cry it out. Lesson learned but I don’t even know if I want it around just in case I accidentally did it again. That was the Worst ever. I’ve had lots of different brands get in my eyes but that was THE worst burning stuff in my eyes EVER.

We purchased for a week long cruise with our family, but I was disappointed in the quality. The lotion seemed to “ball up” a bit when applying (my skin was clean and dry, not sure why), and didn’t seem as effective as other sunscreens I’ve used in the past. I loved how it is advertised as “reed friendly,” especially since we planned on swimming and snorkeling quite a bit, but was ultimately disappointed at the quality. We did end up burning, after only being in the sun for about an hour and reapplying. I’d try it again, but make sure I have another sunscreen as backup just in case.

Also it's a little bit thicker than most which I prefer as it actually feels like I'm coated and protected with a nice layer of sunscreen verse the sunscreens out there that have the consistency of water almost. Also love that this brand is vegan and cruelty free and doesn't contain a ton of harmful ingredients. And as a Floridian I'm sopporting a homegrown company when I use Sun Bum! A++

Used Sun Bum for a year whilst over in Australia and was brilliant, so was excited when I could purchase it over in the UK.

Went to use and shook the bottle as it states and found the consistency odd as it was starting to separate.

Looked at the bottom, and has an expiry of 05/2020. When we received this 13th April.

Would of thought I would of had a bit longer until the expiry, so definitely gutted.

We bought this as scuba divers and snorkellers concerned that regular sun creams have ingredients that are poisonous to aquatic creatures. After reading reviews about alternative, non-harmful creams - and looking to see which are available in the UK - we went for this one. I can certainly say it works as a factor 50 cream. Would recommend to anyone doing watersports with a conscience.

I bought this product at the end of April and it expires May of this year. Really disappointing considering it is over £20 for the bottle.
Fragrance is okay, but it is a bit greasy, though I'm not sure whether that is because it is nearly out of date or not.
