About the Product
  • Each wristband has a 1-time use.

Product Description

No guessing, no forgetting! These color-changing wristbands alert you when it's time to reapply sunscreen or even seek shade. Each time during the day that you cover your child with sunscreen, just coat the UV wristband, too. Adjustable, waterproof, and disposable. Calibrated to work with sunscreens SPF 15 and higher. Sun monitors are sensitive to both UVA and UVB rays. For ages 12 months and up. Activate the sun monitor by exposing to sunlight; it will turn purple. Then, coat it with the same sunscreen you're applying to your child's skin. The wristband turns brown when it's time to reapply sunscreen and turns peach when it's time to get out of the sun. (Turns peach when your child's skin has reached its "mean erythema dose" or MED threshold, which is the amount of sun that causes the initial reddening of the skin.) Recoat the band each time you reapply sunscreen, and then toss at the end of the day Stays on well in water and continues to monitor sun exposure in water

I have fair freckly skin that burns easily and I often accidentally get sunburned because I don't realize I've been in the sun too long until it's too late. These wristbands help you decide when it's time to put on more sunscreen and time to get out of the sun.

It's not completely obvious from the directions which colors mean "reapply sunscreen" and "get out of the sun", but I think it probably depends on how fair your skin is. I just reapplied sunscreen when it was sort of peachy-colored and got out of the sun when it started to get a little yellowy. Over the three sunny days boating on a lake, I didn't get even a little sunburned.

These things are really smart for long days in the sun. You put them on before going outside, then apply sunscreen, completely covering the band. When you go out in the sun it turns bright purple. The band will start to fade the longer you stay out - you reapply sunscreen when it turns lavender. When the band turns almost white - it's time to go in.

For someone with super pale skin who burns after being outside for a few minutes, these things are a lifesaver. I've spent 6 hours out in the blazing sun and been totally fine. Definitely a summer staple.

These are great! I wasn't sure if they would work, but they do, and are very reliable. They let you know when to reapply more sunscreen, and when to get out of the sun. Great buy! Keep you and your families skin safe.

I use these frequently but I'm not totally convinced of their efficacy. They absolutely turn colors in the sun, but it the sis screen factor I can't tell if it works or not. The bottom side stats bright purple & the top side fades to very pale pink, but adding sunscreen doesn't seem to effect it.

They were greatly helpful keeping my very fair skinned son and myself from burning in the Florida sun. We had a great trip because we could stay outside and not worry about sunburn. I did have a couple of bands that didn't stay on though because they got sun block on the band before they adhered to itself on my wrist.

These bands are utterly worthless. They do not stay on properly, especially since the instructions are to put sunscreen on after putting on the band. Additionally they did not change colors as stated. I was hoping for a visual cue for my kids who are very fair and very forgetful to get out of the sun and reapply sunscreen. Instead these just ended up in the trash. Save your money.

Tried these since I couldn't find any silicone reusable wristbands like the one I received in a promo bag last year. Found it helpful to remind you about sun strength. Mine turns from clear to violet blue when warning to put sunscreen on, and can use it over and over. These bands are not reusable, and I knew that, but thought these would at least be a good substitute for a beach day anyway. No such luck. They turn purple in the bright sun at first, then fade to pink in a short time and that's about it. Yep. Color change band then toss away since the papery band's small stick area to fasten it on your wrist barely holds it once. These bands were no help at all and just hype. Very disappointed and a waste of money.

They are helpful since I can not be exposed to the sun due to medical condition. They are comfortable on my wrist & work well.
