I've had the Sunbeam heart shaped waffle maker for about 12 years now and it's still going strong and works great so I didn't hesitate to buy this cupcake maker and also the donut maker. We have an 11 year old who loves to help cook so this was perfect for her. WOW is all I can say. I have a $2,000 Kitchenaid convection oven and I'll never use it again to bake cupcakes or muffins. The first morning we used it I tried it with one of those Martha White quick mix muffin mix and they were perfect. I find that even with an expensive oven I have to usually turn the muffin tins around half way through baking but this bakes everything evenly. I JUST finished 2 dozen cupcakes from a Duncan Heines cake mix and they turned out better then anything I've made in my oven. Set the kitchen timer for 12 minutes and each batch was done perfectly. If you're in a super hurry maybe not the best option as you can do it faster in a regular oven but it was half the work not having to worry about forever checking my oven to make sure half of them weren't over done. This product ROCKS and this is from a mom who has been baking for 25 years. All Teflon coated products have an initial smell to them but I didn't find that it smelled up my house like another poster here. I give this 5 stars for the super easy clean up (NONE) and another 5 stars for even baking. Just a super great product. Thanks Sunbeam, I've been a user of your products for years and will continue to enjoy them for years to come

I gave this cupcake maker to my sister as a housewarming/christmas gift. Not only did she love the way it looks (so cute) but she also said that the cupcakes turned out great!

After much research, I chose to buy her this cupcake maker because I read other good reviews and because it made large (regular sized) cupcakes and not the mini ones.

Bought this for myself and it arrived today. It is super cute! :D It did have an initial smell when I first plugged it in...that horrible Teflon-y smell. Went away pretty quick though.

First batch of cupcakes turned out great! Could not believe how fast it was. 10 minutes! I'm not used to baking this quickly! By the time the machine was preheated I was done mixing the batter, then by the time I had finished whipping up some frosting the cupcakes were done!

They were pretty easy to remove using a soft silicone spatula.(didn't want to scratch the finish) I used cupcake liners and they came right out. Put them aside to cool while I heated up dinner and by the time dinner was dished up they were cool enough to frost. Dinner and dessert in 20 minutes. :D

Bought another one for my daughters birthday so she will be able to make cupcakes and muffins with my Granddaughter. It's so nice being able to create things in the kitchen without heating the whole house up. And this actually baked them better than my regular oven, no high or low spots. Very impressed!

Fun little machine! :)

*Edited to add: I found that you can freeze cake batters. No need to resize batters or alter recipes. Just make your favorite box or home made batter, make as many as you want and freeze the rest of the batter in a gallon freezer bag! I have kept mine frozen for up to a week so far and they bake up as if they are just mixed. You can then either let the batter thaw out, snip a corner, and pipe right into your liners,... or scoop it in frozen. Allow an extra 1-3 minutes bake time if using frozen batter.

I got this to use with my students at school to make cupcakes when we were studying measurement. It smoked a little when I first plugged it in, but that only lasted for about 2 minutes and it has not smoked since. The students were amazed that they could make perfect cupcakes in 10 minutes. They had a blast. It was a little hot getting the cupcakes out, but luckily the decorated cupcake papers were tall enough that we could use them to help get them out of the cupcake maker. I have also used it to make cornbread muffins and they turned out great. I thought that I would try making brownies in them and they also turned out perfect, however the next time I will not use the paper cupcake wrappers when making the brownies because they stuck to them. The brownies took between 12-15 minutes to cook in the cupcake maker. I also like that it has cord storage under it so that it is out of the way.

The cupcakes I make bake beautifully in this and in 10 minutes! I posted some photos. I'm so glad I bought this because I don't have to heat up a whole oven (and wait for it to heat up).

We purchased this 10 months ago and really appreciate what it can bake. From cupvakes to muffins to cornbread, it does it all.

We are at sea level and 13 to 14 minutes cook time does the trick! I would recommend this as a great gift for new bride, busy mom, eager teenager or retired folks.

I always use papers sprayed with a good baking spray and the papers peel right off.

The only oddity is that the tops of the cupcakes get cracks from the steam release. You never really know because of the frosting.
