The blanket is like sleeping under a cloud. When I first put it on the bed I was expecting it to be heavy and cumbersome because it seemed a bit like a giant sack or pillowcase. I was so pleasantly surprised when I crawled into a warm pre-heated bed. The heat does not get that overly hot feeling even on high. No matter what the temperature, it's a gentle evenly distributed heat. WHY ONLY 4 STARS INSTEAD OF 5? It's the style of the controls. The cords are nice and long but the control is so lightweight that I had to rig up a way for it to stay on the nightstand. It's also flat and very dimly lit so for me with a severe neck injury it is very difficult to raise up, reach over and literally pick up the control to be able to see and adjust the temperature during the night. Likewise, my husband has stroke related issues and he needs to be able to roll over, see the temperature and know he can adjust it up or down without the controls falling to the floor. If Sunbeam would simply replace the controls with some that are a style which stand more upright and are brighter in the display allowing a person to roll over and see it, this item would be perfect.

I stumbled on this blanket while looking for a heated mattress pad for my really cold room in Afghanistan - and I'm glad I did! The blanket is incredibly soft and I love the pile. It heats up quickly and has several heat choices, plus an easy to use digital controler. The only negative is that it doesn't seem to heat up as much near the feet (where you plug the cord), but that is minor. I love having it on bed.

Most heating blankets are heavy and bulky. This is lightweight and soft. It feels like you are cuddled up in a warm, super soft blanket...I want one in every room.

The texture on both sides was unexpectedly soft, unlike many other blankets. Heating has been quite acceptable. The setting is responsive on all numbers.

Never, Ever, thought I'd need, want or even like a heated blanket. I felt like they were just for little old frail grannies. Well, my husband likes the fan on High and the A/C on 70. I was freezing at night and the sheets were like ice blocks so I thought I'd try just warming them up with a heated blanket while I took a shower. My plan was to shut it off once I got in bed so I wouldn't burn up. This plushy blanket has adjustable settings and I sleep right under it. I put it on High and it gets pretty warm, sometimes hot, mostly at the bottom and it feels so amazing on my tired, achy legs and feet. I use it every night and I don't burn up at all. I mostly keep it below my chest area so I can stay cool. I don't know how I ever slept without it . I love it !

It is difficult to tell about the details of an electric blanket on the internet. We received this blanket ahead of the anticipated delivery date. Love the blanket. It is warm and of a type of material that does not slide off the bed (as my previous electric blanket did). Am very pleased with it. It is the kind of blanket I wanted and could not find locally.

While it is very thick and soft this blanket is very, very heavy. Almost too heavy for a "heating blanket". The control is very cheap, and the light did not work after the first night. So now I have to turn a light on to see the numbers. Way too much money for just "a blanket" and I am usually easily pleased! I paid more for this blanket than I have for others in the past because of the Name, and thought I would be getting better quality. Not so.

for starters - i've owned one of sunbeam's heated throws before & used it every night on the highest setting for 2 years straight before it finally lost its heating power. i never got the dreaded 'f2' error, even after washing the thing a million times.

what a lot of low-star reviews i see on this product say that it is 'too heavy' or that 'the wires can be felt through the fabric' or other things of the sort. unlike a little heating mat you might use for your body, heated blankets have ACTUAL tangible wires in them. they're going to be kinda stiff, they're going to be heavy, they're going to feel awkward compared to a normal blanket. this is just something to be expected. you WANT to be able to feel the wiring in them because that's literally what's warming you up, and the more fabric that gets put between you and those wires, the less heat you're going to actually feel.

another thing i see is people complaining about how this blanket is 'unsafe' for elderly people or pets and whatnot - if you actually read the warning labels on both the product's package and the blanket itself, it says to NOT give this blanket to any people with mobility issues. this includes the elderly, para/quadriplegics, babies/toddlers, pets, anyone that might have difficulty escaping in case the blanket catches fire or something.
