You do not need any tools to assemble this however note that it was more difficult than I anticipated because a few of the pieces take more force than you think to snap in to place. The door hinges were also quite tricky to figure out how to affix. Once I got it installed (and I was able to do so alone), the shed not only looks really nice but seems quite sturdy and is certainly very functional.
I bought this to put out on the balcony of my small condo, which has very little storage space. It is not obtrusive against a wall, and I can store my small patio furniture in this as well as other household items.
Update, Sept 2009 - we bought one of those "shower accessories" - several wire trays on a pole - modified it just slightly (I think we had to shorten it to fit) and installed it in the back left corner of the shed. That's where we keep our small tools, and it works well.
There are two other problems with this shed. One, if the wind is really strong (we live on a bay), it can blow over. We used a piece of wood to attach it to the side of the house, and that solved the problem. Two, it's a favorite place for wasps and hornets to build their nests. Lots of little nooks and crannies, in the ceiling of the shed and inside the doors. It's not a show-stopper, but if you buy one, keep an eye on it, especially if you have little ones.
I was pleasantly surprised to see that it came with a wire shelf and 2 S hooks! There is a template on the packaging box for a wooden one if you want to make one. I set my long handled items in by sliding the handle into one of the larger spaces on the shelf so they easily stay upright. The S hooks attached to the shelf hold hanging things.
Other storage options I'd seen were too big or more like a box or rather industrial looking. This one could go in a more visible spot in the yard and be fine. I did see a video someone had put up, maybe on another site, and he had it on a condo deck. It looked fine. It isn't wood, but the "wood look" of it takes it up a notch, IMO, from the other major manufacturer's item. I have mine in a corner, behind a couple of large redwood trees. My yard is small and I didn't want anything "intrusive" in it. This fits the small spot for it and your eye is not drawn to it when entering the yard (which is a peaceful "Disney meadow" in my opinion).
My garage has not direct access to the back yard, where 95% of my gardening takes place.Read more ›
Assembling it went OK. The door hinges were a little funky installing but they do work. I have to keep a lock engaged to keep the doors closed. One thing I did during assembly was put the unit on its side after putting the sides on and pressing down on it to get the sides to install correctly. $150 seems high for it but that's the way it goes.

Delivered with one side that is 'wavy'. The plastic side on one end is distorted. Not great quality for the price.Published 3 months ago by Brett M. Albro
The specific item I received was a previous return that was clearly broken. If I found a good price on a new one I might order.Published 9 months ago by SoCalLu
Fell apart in the box before we even opened it. Opened to find a mess. We returned this and would not reorder.Published 10 months ago by Kim Nestor
