So I purchased this Marine Phytoplankton because I was having dental issues and I wanted to improve my immunity and overall health. I really don't know how well it is working although I decided to keep taking it until I finished the bottle. After I finished I won't buy it again. But I did make a lot of other dietary changes that have improved my health. I only shop at Whole Foods Market or the Farmers' Markets. I only buy organic food, grass-fed meats (very little), grass-fed butter and I am starting on pasture eggs. I omited all grains except sour dough bread, and no more processed foods or sugar. And I started simmering bone broth. I gave the product a 3 because I think a healthy diet would work just as well. I put the supplement in bone broth and I can hardly taste it (awful taste). They sell seaweed at the Farmers' Market so I am doing more research. Also, I gargle with sea salt, (regular salt is toxic), use coconut oil for "pulling" and I made toothpaste using the oil, baking soda, and peppermint. I am glad to say my teeth and gums are looking and feeling much better, and I have lost weight in the process.

This one has a thicker consistency which for me that's even better. The taste is disgusting but it supposed to taste disgusting so I just drink it fast with water. I like to take this oceans alive when I go to my cycling class, it gives me so much energy while in class and also after I'm done with my workout. Every time I take this ocean alive , I feel so confident in everything I do.

I was not so convinced it really was helping me until I stopped taking it for a week. Boy oh boy ... I immediately felt tired and listless all the time ... my waking-up every morning was taking longer and longer for my head to clear ... then i started having cravings for sugar based products ... weird! Once I started taking my regular dose, the symptons went right away and I started feeling good again! Now, this stuff is really nasty to take straight from the bottle or even diluted in water ... my holistic dr (who is also a medical dr) suggested I add a dropperful to one ounce or two ounces of organic orange juice and swig it down like a whiskey shot. That works great, no fishy taste during or after, One of the ounce bottles lasts me about a month. One dropperful a day in the AM, first thing.

Okay, it tastes horrible. So I put a few drop under the tongue and after a few minutes flush that out with plenty of fresh water or tea. That's the best way to avoid tasting it. I have been taking it for months for its minerals and other essential nutrients, while at the same time following a balanced plant based diet that includes several other superfoods. After almost a year, the health benefits are amazing and I plan to continue to include this product in my diet. I don't know whether it would help for someone on the Standard American Diet (SAD), but I imagine it would at least help some since it is so nutrient rich, and SAD is so nutrient poor.

For people looking for Phytoplankton, this is a good product...But, and this is a big but -- my experience is that it really does not have any effect on your body whatsoever. What DOES have an effect on your body is the WATER that you drink with it.

I tried an experiment. For one week, I took 4 to 6 drops of the phytoplankton with 12 oz of water early in the morning as soon as I woke up - I felt good every morning that week with my mood generally improved. I thought I had really discovered something.

I stopped taking it for a week to see if the effect was real. That week, my mood was not as good overall. I was generally more irritable and a bit thirsty throughout the day.

I thought maybe the water had just as much of an effect as the Phytoplankton. To find out whether this was the case, the third week, I took only 12 oz of water with no phytoplankton in it. I felt exactly like I did the first week. My mood was generally improved. I felt better. And I was more productive at work.

My conclusion is that drinking 12 oz of water immediately after waking up makes me feel better, and that the Phytoplankton is just a placebo. It's possible that this stuff has some real effects for people, but I'm skeptical - I think it is all hype. The real effect is because of the water you take with it.

Don't believe me?...try it for yourself. It won't cost you anything. Water is free (usually).

The first time I tried this it was very noticeable. It could not have been a placebo that time. It made a warm feeling inside that lasted for hours. Every time after that I haven't felt that. But now at about 8 days I am feeling very strong physically and mentally. And also mood wise.

The actual taste is irrelevant and not important. Why? You can add it to something. We have chocolate almond milk in our house now and it goes great in that and I just need a couple of ounces of the almond milk. Yes it can be pricey. My wife is taking it as well so we might be buying two bottles a month. The subscribe and helps especially if you are Amazon mom
