How It Works?
Solar panels convert sunlight into an electric current, they do not store power. Amorphous solar panels are created by spraying silicon onto glass in very thin layers, and are commonly known as thin film solar panels. This process allows them to be better at generating electricity in all lighting conditions, including cloudy or shady environments. Amorphous solar panels are best for smaller output needs, temporary set ups, and areas that do not receive predictable sun conditions. These solar panels ensure your lights will work anywhere, anytime!

One quarter, still working strong, just weekly recommend you take a wipe and clean off any dust off solar panel.
Working great, nice and bright. These may be on sale at Costco now for around $30 (8/2015)
Lights are still working as good as the day they were purchased.
April 22 2016 update:
Lights are still working as well as they did when they were purchased. Great lights.
Four month update: Lights still work as expected. No issues what-so-ever.
Two month update: The lights still work as expected. I even have three of them now. As far as the complaints about them not being water proof, I didn't read anywhere in the description of them stating that they were water proof. I have mine mounted under the eaves of the house. I guess good ole commonsense told me to do that.
First off, the light is very near "daylight" as one can get with LED lights. It's actually like being at a night baseball game; that kind of light.
Install was easy, and setup was also easy. I did let the solar panel lay directly exposed to the sun the first day before using it and mounting it. Once mounted, I set all three switches to maximum sensitivity. Early low light "on", really subtle motion, and a long "on" time. With that done, I checked it when the sun was down but it was still daylight. At first, it fired quickly. With just two adjustments on the "lumen" it now fires when the light is very dim, which is perfect. I left the "on" time for the lights at max, as this is not so long. Also, the sensitivity was also left a max. Small animals will not fire it but a very large cat, dog, raccoon will set it off. Exactly what I was wanting.
I'm so impressed with this light that I just ordered another one.
The light also has an "always" on position of the switch if you choose to have it on for an extended amount of time.
Also, if you have security cameras that are inside looking out, and you can't use the IR LEDs because of the reflection through a window, these work GREAT! When these fire, the light is enough that the cams will record just like it was daylight outside.
I highly recommend this to anyone wanting a good light that doesn't require a power source to operate.
If you're mounting it to nylon siding, the mounting hardware will probably be useless for you. I ended up using some really long brass wood screws because the included hardware wouldn't reach through the siding and insulation to reach the wood underneath.
I'm not impressed with the mount for the solar panel. It will only rotate side to side, you can't tilt the panel at all, so it really limits how you can aim it. I ended up having to mount mine to a gutter strap with zip ties in order to get it facing in a good direction. If it could tilt, I wouldn't have had to go for the redneck method :)
Now I need to talk my neighbor into mounting one to the side of their house to provide security to our four vehicles on the parking slab out back. It'll easily put out enough light to cover four vehicles and really light the place up. It's enough light to scare off anyone worried about being seen.
This is a great combo with one of the D-Link wireless security cams. I have three of them and they work great, easy to setup and mount and they only need a power source, no running video cables all over the place.
After hearing so many so so reviews, my initial review is that it is working better than I'd hoped.
- Much brighter than conventional flood light.
- Adjustable 1) Dusk-2-Dawn; 2) Motion (three settings) 3) Light on all the time.
- Other modes for auto, on, or off
- adjustable IR motion sensor
- long solar panel charging cord (12ft)
- replaceable rechargeable batteries
- very reasonably priced
- not really water-proof, suggest to open and use a silicon based caulk on seams.
- left to right adjusting is not possible, it should be though.
- Timer should be longer, but I get why it's not - don't want to run down the batteries.
I will be updating my review should anything change with the lights performance as well as any wet weather issues. But first impression is that I am very happy.
