Be careful buying this product because it has very limited power. I wanted to run a small inflator with this to help pump up sports balls. It wouldn't work and then I started reading all of the instructions and specifications. My device uses too many amps for this device. I'm not sure what I would ever use this for now if it can't run my little inflator. There are not many smaller electrical devices I have that I'm running on a cigarette lighter.

I would like to exchange this item for a new one. Received it in May of 2020. Used it once. Five months after purchase got it out to use again and it is dead! Please contact me for exchange.

Addendum: I had given this item a bad review because it broke on second use. I emailed the company, after placing this review, and was told that the item might not be suited for igloo Kool mate. The company is sending a new one. They responded to my questions within hours of my emails. I must retract my previous review because although true - it broke quickly, the company has rectified it to my satisfaction.

I bought this device so that I could learn how to use my new Humminbird while sitting in my easy chair over the winter. Works great! I ended up using it to power an extra boat radio I had which I set up in the garage. I can also use it in the camper when I use an electric hookup. Most of my camper accessories are DC since I normally don't use electric sites. Remember, this delivers 12 volts. Laptops (I think) require 18 or 19 so this is not the unit for them. Anything that will plug into a cigarette lighter socket will work with this.

Works but only for small things

Bought to use with a fishing light. 12v @ 50watts = 4.167 amps. This converter is supposed to be 5.8 amps. My light runs for about 30 minutes before the unit overheats and shuts off. A+ for turning off vs bursting into flames. C- on onto being able to handle a simple, light load. The socket is loose and things don't stay plugged in well.

If the stars align and no one touches the cord it works for 30 mins at a time. Not what I bought it for. If you have light, light loads for a short period of time it isn't a bad deal. I'm back on the hunt for something better. DOH!

I just purchased an Engel portable refrigerator-freezer Model MD14F and I needed a converter cord so it can go from the car to a hotel room as needed when traveling. The unit works only with DC power so I needed the converter cord to run it off A/C power. The Engel specs said this could be done using their own converter cord but I decided to try the less expensive Sunforce converter cord which I could get more rapidly. The Sunforce cord promised a somewhat greater Amp power than the refrigerator/freezer required so I ordered it. It arrived in 2 days as promised (reliable Amazon Prime!) and I plugged it into the A/C outlet first, as suggested by another reviewer who said that's very important. I then connected it to the DC cord that came with the unit; it had already been plugged into the freezer. It all turned on instantly and the unit is cooling right now to the freezer setting which promises to be -15 Centigrade. There are 5 settings on the Engel unit and this one is the coldest. It's all very quiet and the converter cord's box is slightly warm - not at all hot. So far, all is working well and I'm happy with this purchase.

I ordered Sunforce AC/DC power converter for use with the Seaflo automatic submersible bilge water pump for a fish pond.
The purpose is to convert the the Seaflo 110volt to 12 volt by Sunforce converter.. But after many professional trials, they do not work well together.
The Seaflo works when connected to my car 12 volt battery. On the Sunforce the electric meter yields 15.8 volt, not 12volt as the manual says.
I called the Seaflo technical advisors, they said the 15.8 volt from the Sunforce cannot work with Sunflo unless it yields 12 volt.
Now I must get your advice as to what should I do? Can Sunforce send the 12 volt converter for another trial? Or should I return both the items?
This complaint is sent to both Sunforce and Seaflo.

This is an excellent unit and has been more helpful than I expected it to be. Plug into regular 110/120v electric and you have a cigarette lighter plug ready to accept your 12v 'toys'. I bought it for my boat house so I could plug in floating fishing light from my boat when I just want to fish from the dock - and it's great for that. When I got a new sonar/char plotter unit I attached a cigarette lighter adapter to the power wires on it and was able to explore the unit's mapping facility in detail and do some of the settings so it will be ready to go when it's in the boat. Also was able to easily update the software on the unit. It is handy anytime you want to try out a new 12v device without having to go and hook it up in a car or boat. I was surprised at the economical price on this unit, too. This seems to be a good, solid unit that should hold up well over time.

Didn't even work

Bought this product based on the reviews. It sat in the box for over a month at the cottage and I went to use it this weekend and it doesn’t even work. Tried multiple standard 12Volt air pumps and they work in the boat and atv but this inverter didn’t even work from the start.

And now I can’t even return it. Terrible product.
