UPDATE: After using this product for a while now, I am still very pleased with its performance, but only for my plastic framed glasses. This is not a good solution for wire framed glasses as they fit so loosely that they slide around from the motion of the vehicle and wind up sliding so far off to one side of the keeper that they rest at a steeply sloped angle in it. No bueno. The attached pic shows a pair of sunglasses in the foreground and a pair of wire frame prescription glasses in the background.
I've always had my sunglasses flying around my car. I work with dogs, so it's not a safe, or clean, place for them to be. Having just bought some new cat-eye sunglasses, I decided to see what was out there. This is perfect for my needs. It keeps them up and away from the dogs/dirt and helps me remember to keep at least one pair of sunglasses in my car.
At first, I was worried the hook wouldn't fit on my sun visors because it's a bit thick (to the point that garage door opener clips will fly off if I move the visor), but the clip was long enough and strong enough to not only grab it, but stay on.
It turns out that all expectations were met. The glasses go in and out easily but are held tightly enough not to fall out. The holder is small enough that it fits on the visor without looming.
I'm about to order several more as stocking stuffers for Xmas.
Added November 2, 2015: A month and a half later, I'm still enjoying the "delight" factor of having something that works so well. Clips hold the earpieces and don't torque the glasses frames and provide easy access, all in a slim profile. What's not to like?
The holder is able to hold glasses via their arms. It can hold armless glasses if the bridge is long enough, but you have to be careful not to scratch the lenses when inserting (especially in a hurry).
Glasses are able to slip in and out very easily. Once in, it's very secure. If you hit a speed bump or accidentally knock it (unless at a specific angle and force) glasses are most likely not going to fall off. There's no levers to pull or or buttons to press, just slide your glasses in and out.
It's able to hold most glasses. Even two large aviator glasses will fit unless you have one placed to high on the bottom and one placed to low on top so they touch each other. If you build a habit of sliding it in the middle every time, or make a conscious effort when sliding in you won't have an issue.
Airvent holder. I personally just stick with the visor configuration unless you install it in an airvent that's able to close air flow as exposure to extreme heat, cold and constant change in temperature may damage the lenses/frames of your glasses overtime.
I personally use this as I have to wear corrective lenses when driving due to my nearsightedness. Not a fan of wearing semi tinted glasses so it's nice to have both regular prescription lenses and prescription sunglasses on hand depending on the weather condition.
Overall very functional double sunglasses holder, a very nice organization tool
The clips hold firmly, even in my truck over somewhat bouncy terrain (have not tried them with serious off-road areas yet). But, it still remains reasonably easy to pull the glasses out.
Durability remains to be seen, but, so far so good.
It's also important to have the glasses off the ground so they don't get inadvertently scratched.
The sunglasses clip is quite rigid, holding the glasses in place, and secure to the sun visor... a benefit compared to the last sunglasses holder I had, which didn't hold to the visor, or glasses firmly.
