Update 2/2016:
I've ordered two more of these units recently, and both have come WITHOUT nuts on the dimmer stitches. So apparently, the original item I received below was "special" and very uncommon. So far the replacement nut I've found is a metric M7 x 0.75 (7mm) panel nut. The 1/4-32 nut is too small so don't waste your time in getting those. While the electronics are good, this small item missing is a pain to find. So dropping the rating to 3 stars.

The complaint about not having the nut for the switch is unfounded. It is there. People are mistaking that the supplied nut is there to hold the plastic sheath, but it's not and you need to use that to secure the switch to the outside if the touchier tube

It worked! I had to revise the sequence of the lamp sections or rewire the switch. I chose to swap out the center sections. The switch is mounted lower than it was before, but it's easier to reach from a seated position! Other than that it works just as advertised. This is not a REALLY easy repair, but should NOT be too difficult for someone with basic tool skills. HINT: Take pictures of it as you take it apart. The sequence of spacers and washers is critical when putting it back together! Smart Phone cameras work really well for this!

Purchased this ballast to replace a failed GE unit on a floor standing torchiere lamp. The Sunpark ballast works great. I think it has a slightly wider dimming range than the original. I would have rated it 5 stars except for two things: It comes with a threaded switch to control the dimming. The switch did not include a nut. The nut was smaller than the original one on the lamp. Finding the correct nut was difficult. I eventually found a switch at Radio Shack that used the same nut. The ballast also did not come with a wiring diagram. I made an educated guess on the wiring from other ballasts and it worked first try.

I went to all the trouble to install this. It worked great for about one week, now it is dead. No light comes on.
I replaced the bulb at the same time.
The old one worked for years.
Should have junked the lamp but it is so nice.

Wires from the dimmer and the ballast are all different colors and no wiring diagram. I emailed Sunpark for assistance and have heard nothing and their phone number is busy. I have seen this very item on other retailers websites and they do have wiring diagrams but, you guessed it, the colors don't match my product.

What can I say, it replaced the old ballast exactly (with one small exception) and saved me from buying another new lamp! Shipped promptly and arrived early! The one exception was that the dimmer control mounting was smaller than the original. I'll see if I can find a new nut, but since the installed unit doesn't seem to want to turn, the control works fine using the old knob.

I bought this to repair a floor standing torchiere lamp as the existing switch already had some issues and the ballast starting going bad. Easy replacement and it was a lot cheaper than buying another lamp.

Works well and agree with other reviewers that don't buy this if you are not comfortable with making modifications or be creative to install dimmer switch. Switch does not come with a nut to hold this dimmer in place. Local hardware stores, electric and light stores, Radio Shack etc. none of them had nut that fits this switch. I had to insert support at the back of the switch to keep it in place.
