I knew with all of the positive reviews this dish dryer has received that it had to be halfway decent. I definitely thought very highly of it before I took it out of the package and now I have nothing but a bunch of respect for the device and the manufacturer. It is a simple product that does a great job at drying dishes. I have 1 and only 1 complaint; water seems to collect beneath the rack and pool instead of going into the excess water tray. The dishes that hang beneath the rack have their edges sitting in the water, which means they aren't dry on the edges when you pull the dishes out. I was able to resolve this by either not drying plates or laying the plates at an angle and not in the grooves. Though, this issue only occurs on the 20 minute setting. It's really not that big of a deal at all, I probably shouldn't mention this, but there are those few people out there that this would make upset. Only about an inch area of the plates are ever wet, because it's only the very edge that hangs in the groove beneath the rack... but it may upset some people.

All in all. If you are tired of drying dishes and getting hair on them with the towels... get one of these. THEY ARE GREAT and I personally think the device is much larger than thought, which is great for adding more dishes.

UPDATE:

I still use and love my Sunpentown dish dryer. I had a little girl and used it to dry her baby bottles. It worked like a charm!!

My only gripe with the machine is the poor quality of the excess water drawer that you have to dump out every couple of cycles. After a few months it broke and we just put some duck tape on the outer part of it and just kept using it.

This arrived today, and I used it straight away. It fits a lot , I can even fit my crockpot with plenty of room to spare for other items. This unit does not have a traditional cutlery basket, it has a long ,shallow basket designed for chop sticks, but it works just as well, I'm not bothered by this.
Some people have noted a plastic smell during operation, this unit does not smell at all. It is very quiet. I'm very pleased with this purchase, it is more hygienic than using dish towels to dry dishes, I should have got this years ago. I can see why new parents are raving about this product. Dishes come out completely dry and warm, stylish, more functional than traditional dish racks, easy to clean, 5 stars for hygiene, functionality and being so quiet. Plus my time can be best spent doing other things than standing drying dishes and then having to wash the dish towels after, so win, win. If you have been thinking of purchasing this product I would suggest that you seriously consider buying it, for the reasons I mentioned above. Thanks Sunpentown for such a awesome product!

We use this dryer for baby bottles and it works great. It usually dries them in 30 minutes or less and since it has a cover, it works great as storage for the dry bottles as well. It also only uses 150watts of electricity so it is much more economical to run that your dishwasher to dry dishes.

I LOVE this machine! It is quiet, more like minor white noise. It doesn't always dry in 35 mins for full loads and to be sure, I have been setting it for 60 mins. This rack packs a lot and you can stack it pretty high for an enclosed unit. The 'filter' looks like a piece of plastic stuffing but it should block out lint from the air intake. The air dispersed in the unit is warmer than anticipated but not quite hot. I've put this thing to work and it is awesome!

It is quite large, so make sure you have the counter space before purchasing. I deducted a star because the dishes do not always easily stand up and stay up. They could have designed the dish rack base better. FYI: The "Auto" setting is just a factory pre-programmed timer that is set to different times based on what the room temperature is at the time you activate it. It is not like it can really tell when the dishes or silverware are truly dry.

My SD-1501 is working as advertised. The price is right. If you want a warm-air dish dryer like I did, this one is delivering for me so far.

Unit does dry, but you have to cycle it a few times. Don't use "Auto," just use the "60" setting to force it to dry more completely. I have no idea how "Auto" is controlled or sensed, but it does not dry the contents thoroughly. Overall, if you run it through a couple of cycles, it does dry well... So had to take away one start due to the "Auto" function not working that well...

Good, we use it to dry baby's bottles and feeding sets. Very helpful to dry small tubes. However, you need to press the button again after the auto timer stops because it doesn't usually dry out all the items. Takes about 1.5 - 2 hours to totally dry baby bottles.
