Wood design hard to see for bad eyes

First, I LOVE this clock! It has everything I was needed and is surging it’s purpose. I like waking up to the sounds of birds, and love waking up to the light.

There are a couple things I’d like to point out so those in my position (eyesight and tech challenged) can be aware of.

First, the clock is VERY LIGHT plastic, but it looks great, and for this price and what it is, I would NOT say it’s cheaply made or easily broken, but it feels like it could be for young kids or clumsy adults. The instructions for cleaning say to use a wet cloth to clean the front, and I can see it easily getting scratched up if you don’t do so.

The wood design is aesthetically pleasing, but the images on the setting buttons are white and hard to see, for me so I needed to rely on the instruction manual diagram to set the clock. On top of this, I’m personally not very savvy when it comes to these sorts of things, so I found it challenging even with the manual to actually set the alarms. Wow, I don’t feel as old as I sound. Lol

Also, regardless of your eyesight the sunlight feature, which I assume most would be most interested in as this is its unique feature, is great, but as the alarm is going off the gradual brightening light drowns out by the time display until it stops.

Lastly the alarm goes off and does not repeat for ME if I don’t turn it off. So I can’t find the snooze feature??? This is probably user error and a setting I missed.

I know this review sounds like contradiction having five stars and all but it is not. I really love the clock and if you’re tech savvy and can overcome it’s little quirks, you’ll have a treasure.

I kept seeing these advertised and wanted one for a year or so, but I only saw them for like $100+!! Last Fall, the first day I woke up to a totally dark room with zero motivation to get up, I checked Amazon and found this one for a much affordable price.

Y’all, I LOVE it!!!! You definitely get what you pay for. It’s not fancy. The settings and buttons are slightly complicated to set up and they aren’t a very intelligent set up. If you use it without sound, this is very sensory-sensitive friendly and makes waking up much less overwhelming and less overstimulating. (Neurodivergent person here!)

The alarm (“sunrise”) starts 10 minutes before your set alarm time and the Snooze function WILL NOT WORK until the actual alarm time. Example, my alarm is set for 6:30. The light starts to come on at 6:20 and if I decide I want to snooze, I can’t utilize the snooze until 6:30 so you have 10 minutes of unwanted light in your face. I did find you can bypass this slightly by turning the alarm off and back on again (a two handed job as the clock is light weight and slides around on my glass nightstand since the button to set the alarm is on the side edge). The light will go off at my set time then.

Also, if you snooze, the light comes on full brightness at the end of the snooze. It’s pretty intense. 😂😂

I rarely use the snooze option, which I give thanks and credit to this alarm clock for that. I used to be a chronic snoozer and this sunrise alarm has reduced that 95% or more!! I made use it once or twice a month now instead of like 5+ times every morning. 😂😂😂😂

I wake up in a better mood.

I do NOT use the sounds on this thing. Oh my gosh. I used them for like one or two days and about threw the thing across the room. The sounds are an AWFUL pitch and are on a very short loop. If you are sensitive to noises, I would recommend not using them. You’ll wake up in a bad mood. 🤣

The light alone is perfect (as long as I make sure the alarm clock is facing toward me). There have been a couple times I was rolled over and slept through it, but usually the light is bright enough to wake me up even if I am rolled on my other side.

I would prefer to invest in one of the more expensive clocks some day if they offer more settings and a bit more intelligent set up.

However, the quirks with this are pretty minor for the price. I highly recommend.

Pra quem quer experimentar um despertador de luz super recomendo. Ele simula o amanhecer, mas no horário que precisa. No começo achei besta a ideia, mas decidi testar porque tenho muita dificuldade com o despertador do celular e ficava com dor de cabeça por um tempo, mesmo procurando músicas que aumentassem o som gradualmente.
