So far Super Body, Super Brain has exceeded my expectations. It is written in a style that is pleasant to read while clearly conveying the science underlying the program. I love this book!!! I am a mother of 4 and have very little time. I was making time to work out for an hour a day (It was hard but...worth it). Then, I read this book. Everything in it is rock solid. The information is thorough but digestible. The tone is conversational and it flows well. He spends a lot of time in my opinion going into the studies and research. I found nothing to contradict what I have already read elsewhere through the years and on an ongoing basis.
The best part is when you actually start his 10 minutes fitness sets they are so 'easy'/'doable'. They don't feel that long but apparently they are. Are they effective???? YES! I have never had a 'slim' body. I just thought I was built more 'stocky'/athletic. I have been smaller in weight but the size and shape of my muscles now are unbelievable and so encouraging. I can't believe I can see a thin, toned body while working out...less! My arms have become slender (think ballerina), my legs are toned and...small? for lack of a better word. They have that nice toned, chiseled look that I thought I would never have (I'm definately pear-shaped).
I have always wanted the body I have now but I have never seen it until this book. I really had to suspend my disbelief after reading I could work out less (cardio wise also) and my body would be shaped and toned in the way that I've always wanted... at 34-y/o. The pictures and instructions for the basic exercises and circuits are easy to follow. I particularly like the way that the author, at the bottom of each combination, breaks down why that combination of movements is good for the body and good for the brain. The concept of "seeing with your brain" really is effective - and fun. The book's workout circuits are a nice break from the mindless repetition you get from other programs. Super Body Super Brain is positively addictive.
Most of all, since I have been doing the Super Body Super Brain workout, I stand a little bit taller, my clothes fit a little bit better, I feel stronger, more alert, more focused, and happier - all without expensive gym equipment or repetitive, boring exercises. All you need is a set of hand weights and the book. Yes, this book does it all.
