The best part about this album is, real Van Morrison fans hate it! I have always appreciated his work over the years and he is my wife's favorite artist. But how many times can you listen to Moondance and all the other staples on the radio?? I bought this CD for a road trip so I would have some VM on my iPod for my wife to listen to on a 12 hour drive. All the rest of my iPod tracks were Muddy Waters, Elmore James, Wolf, Sam and Dave, Atlantic records, etc. I thought it was a "best of" album and since the first tune is Brown Eyed Girl- I bought it. But to my surprise, after the first track, this CD gets raw...raw as hell! I love the low down blues and the greasy stuff- in my opinion, Van Morrison is getting down, getting raw, and playing some of the coolest junk I have ever heard in any of his records. I wish there was more VM like this. So, if you have had enough of the other stuff and want to hear a man that's playing what he wants to play...buy this album. I love it and my wife couldn't care less.... ENJOY!!

Apparently there is no end to corporate avarice... Sony Music currently has four(!) different Van Morrison titles in print featuring this same material (Blowin' Your Mind, TB Sheets, Bang Masters, and this). Without even considering that this is hardly his most memorable work (apart from "Brown-Eyed Girl"), that is a ridiculous number. Bang Masters is the best of the lot... this is the worst. For adventurous souls, there are also a number of import collections availible (Payin' Dues, Brown-Eyed Beginnings, New York Sessions) that feature a bizarre second disc of "demos" recorded as contract fulfillment (reportedly in about an hour) after Bert Berns' untimely death.

This disc came about because Morrison was changing labels and was forced to produce some songs to meet a contractual obligation. Most are throw-aways, I own every Van Morrison CD ever released officially and dozens of others. Buy ANY of them before this one. He's a great artist; this is a crummy CD.

Van Morrison is one of the greatest singer songwriters of the 20th Century, still going strong in the 21st. I already have several CDs of Van's music. This CD is another compilation of his older hits which have been published many times before. If you don't have any of Van Morrison's music, this CD would be great. If you already have his music, check out the tracts first.

I am a big fan and was very upset when I put this on.His session at the BBC is a wonderful concert and having compared them I do not think that this is Van Morrison singing,I think its a fake.
