The “Krazy Beaver Super Shovel” is an All American Made Product and is proudly made by Seymour Midwest. Currently the shovel is available in one size at this time. Measures 40 inches Total length. Excellent for Camping, Hunting and Off-Road use. The Head: Manufactured using Heavy Duty 13 gauge heat treated tempered steel. Twice as thick as a normal residential shovel. Reinforced teeth to prevent bending and breaking. Sand blasted and powder coated both inside and out from the head to handle area to prevent rust. The powder coating provides a high quality finish that can withstand the toughest conditions. The “Krazy Beaver Super Shovel” can be used for regular digging and in extreme situations can be used to assist in penetrating Ice and Clay. The “Krazy Beaver Super Shovel” is available red at this time. Measures 11 1/2” Height X 8 1/2 wide. The Handle: Made of lightweight but extremely strong fiberglass High Visibility Yellow The head to handle connection has a permanently mounted solid 14” fiberglass reinforcing core to withstand breakage during the most extreme circumstances. At the end of the handle under the “D-Grip”, there is a hollow section that can be used for storage of emergency items such as matches, flint, hooks, fishing line, batteries, etc… The D-Grip: Made of solid Polymer. There is no soft rubber on these grips. The reason for the use of the solid Polymer is because soft rubber overtime begins to break down and becomes sticky. The Lock Pins: These Tab Lock Pins are awesome! Unlike regular PTO or quick release pins, you can actually use gloves. The “Tab” makes it easy to attach or remove from the shovel. In addition to being easy to use, these pins are easy to find when accidentally dropped in the sand or mud, unlike a two piece pin that has a separate pin and wire.

A Well-Built Shovel I Can Count On

I bought this shovel because it was longer than other "compact" shovels (at about 39"), & being a senior citizen this was important to me, to prevent bending down as much as possible. Other shovels I looked at were 13" or more, shorter than this one. The Krazy Beaver easily fits in my car trunk, so it's longer length is not a problem for my use. I live in the PA. mountains, & there's lots of snow & ice here.

This shovel is very well-made. The metal is heavy gauge, & it's sturdily constructed for serious use. I've used it for hacking away at ice on my 200' driveway, & it did a great job. My previous shovel got all bent out of shape doing the same job, but the Krazy Beaver held up well & wasn't damaged.

It costs more than other shovels I looked at, but when I'm stuck on a narrow road on a mountainside, I want to have a shovel I can count on without fear of it's breaking. I highly recommend it.

This thing is a beast! And make no mistake, those teeth are sharp when they arrive.
I'd either make a cover or get the cover from Krazy Beaver because even a casual contact with bare skin will result in some damage if you are not careful.
Depending on how you carry it or store it, you'll want to keep those teeth covered.
Shovel is very rugged and if not abused, should last for many seasons.
I've used to dig out of hard clay and it cuts through it like a hot knife through butter.

I tried to purchase a similar shovel from two other companies claiming to have stock on hand. Neither was able to fulfill my order after waiting WEEKS with no communication from either. Not so with Krazy Beaver! They had stock on hand (as advertised) and shipped it out quickly! The shovel is heavy duty, great for ripping out dirt and debris. You pay a bit more for this shovel but clearly you get what you pay for, in this case a great product delivered quickly to your house. I would buy again and would recommend.

The only reason I didn't give it five stars was that the first models came apart to make them easier to stow. They no loger offer that. That's a shame, but the shovel still functions very well. Its really good at breaking up soil or icy snow. I would recommend it even though it is rather pricey.
