SuperChalks are designed to be used on non-porous surfaces. We recommend that you check whether or not your material is porous before using SuperChalks to avoid any unnecessary staining. If you are unsure then we suggest making a tiny mark, leaving it for 2 minutes and then gently rubbing with a damp cloth.

Cons: the Tip wasn't as fine as I thought it would be. So I was a little disappointed in that. So I have to write very carefully to make my handwriting legible, and I can assure you my handwriting isn't "chicken scratch style".
I already own the 8 pack assortment of the 4mm chalk markers and find the 3mm a great addition. However, I would love to see further progress in smaller and larger sizes.
Initially, I was not aware that these markers didn't work well on semi porous surfaces such as chalkboard painted wood. They *will* leave residue behind when used in this manner. Thankfully, I found that using the markers on glass overlay surfaces (glass frames with various decorative papers etc.) works out wonderfully for me. The markers are vibrant, opaque and easy to work with in creating crisp lines. In addition, they don't run while writing and come off relatively easily with water. Thank you for a great product.
Use as directed, stick to *non-porous* surfaces and you won't be disappointed.
I've always wanted to try one of these for labeling my beans and other dry goods that I keep in glass mason jars and I'm pleased to say this product works beautifully - see picture. No need to buy labels!
I followed the emailed instructions to get the pen flowing, (copy & pasted below) and have had absolutely no problems with getting a consistent, even ink flow. They are easy to write with, even on a curved glass surface.
The "Chalk marker" name must be confusing some buyers. This is not chalk. It is more of a replacement for an old fashioned grease pencil, but it is MUCH better. It stays in place better, yet clean up more easily - with just a damp cloth and not a lot of elbow grease.
One other note: You don't want to use this on a surface that gets brushed or rubbed against, at it will scratch off.
Before use shake the marker well. Then depress the tip on to a scrap piece of paper and hold for 10 seconds. Let the ink flow out until it completely coats the tip. For the best results this should be repeated three times. Please note that only light pressure is needed when depressing the tip. Heavy pressure may result in bending or damaging the tip.
