The book covers the benefits of kettlebell training. The strength of kettlebell training is in forcing the body to experience wider ranges of motion to optimize stretching. This training modality is very helpful for weight loss too.
Don reviews the forbidden foods for dieters like processed food, pasta, deserts, granola, processed meat and margarine to name just a few.The book names top vitamins too. i.e. K2 for the heart and B17 to help reduce cancer
Overall, Don's book is excellent for losing weight and enhancing health generally. At the current price, the value is significant.
I learned about Nightshade Vegetables three years ago and honestly, I still eat some of them. But, I do believe there are valid reasons to avoid them. Three and a half years ago, when I changed my diet, my sister thought I’d lost my mind. I never changed my diet to lost weight, I did it to get Healthier. The fact that I lost 102 pounds in 6 months was a huge bonus. The fact that I was eating twice the amount of food daily, that I’d eaten in twenty years was even more shocking. Within a few weeks, I was off all narcotic pain meds, arthritis medication, GIRD meds, my diabetes medication was cut down 75% (later became diet controlled) my COPD & asthma became much better controlled. I went from 27 medications a day to about 6 and that’s mainly for allergies, asthma & blood pressure for the allergy meds. I have terrible allergies and I am allergic to a lot of foods. Foods can easily make me feel better and easily make me feel like crap. If I accidentely get ahold of something with Gluten or Guar Gum in it-CRAP!!! It will set off my Crohn’s, Arthritis and Inflammation for at least two weeks. So, if you are ultra sensitive to certain foods, they can really affect you. By the same token, the Super Foods, can make you feel great Really Fast.
This book takes you into the world of Superfoods and explains in Depth Why You Should & Shouldn’t Eat Certain Foods. There are valid reasons for not indulging in Foods, including Nightshade Vegetables (I Admit, I do Love my Roasted Bell Peppers) Most of the Super Foods, I Absolutely Love (Except Broccoli-YUCK!!) I’ll put Chia Seeds in Everything, Garlic in Everything, Ditto for Fresh Ginger & Olive Oil. Kale? Love it, in Salads & as Chips. Quinoa has become somewhat of a staple for me and of course I like Spinach. There are Others of Course, but the author Explains Why they're Helpful..
Besides the great information in this book, I enjoyed the recipes. I haven’t as yet tried them, as I’ve been busy with the holiday. Several of them did catch my eye and I printed them out to try later. This author seems like a prolific writer and I look forward to reading some of his other books. Why did I not give this 5 stars? Because, I would have liked to have seen a Table of Contents and a little better format to the book. The contents are well conceived, but I thought the book could have been laid out a bit better, especially considering this author has penned so many titles. I do recommend this cookbook, because it encompasses a great deal of information and some nutritious & tasty looking recipes. Thank you for reading my review.
I like the different types of cuisine recipes it offers. In the mood for stir fry, breakfast, or hummus, it has all of them! It's full of unique recipes I haven't seen on or in other healthy food sites or cookbooks. The ingredients call for affordable things that you can find in any grocery store.
One of the best things is that each recipe is labeled for what diet it follows, gluten free, vegan, diary free, ect!
Some of the recipes even have the nutritional facts on them, which is really nice. The recipes even have photos, letting you know what the meal looks like.
Simple easy recipes and all the benefits and explanations behind the meals are in the back of the book. It explains some of the ingirdeitns and why some things are left out, and whats best for different types of conditions and ailments. The only thing this book left out is dessert. I would have enjoyed a healthy dessert chapter but I understand why it was left out.
Overall, great for those who want to be healthier, looking for meal plans for different diets, especially those who have a family to make dinner for!
