The author begins the book with photos of himself before and after, losing 80 pounds. What a transformation. He starts the book by sharing that he is a regular "office guy" in his mid 40's and how going to the gym meant back pain and stiffness and as he describes each exercise, he has included photos of himself. I have to tell you - it is awesome to see a regular person getting into shape, rather than those super muscular people that look like they spend 18 hours a day at the gym. The exercises he presents are simple and anyone can do them and I have to say, I am inspired!
The second half of the book is full of beneficial information about superfoods. What he shares in terms of explaining de-toxing, stabilizing blood sugar and controlling glucose levels was a super bonus to the book and provided me with information that helped me to understand why those extra pounds have been lingering around my midsection. I feel that the reader will finally be able to understand the basics of how the body uses and stores fat and how glucose affects all other functions of the body. Many people think "superfoods" are some magic berries and green algae - but the author shares foods that really support immune function, regulate the blood sugar levels, give you the healthy fats and omegas and so much more. This book is not just about kettlebells and getting rid of a few pounds - it is a complete health and wellness guide for the older crowd, and with his easy to follow directions and photos, and the transformation he himself shares, it really gives you the push to finally do it.
Overall- great, inspiring read, I am always very happy to see folks as determined as Don!
