You will not be disappointed with this complete set of the Superman Animated series. As an added bonus when I purchased the set, a digital code was included to access a digital copy of the series. Key part though, the code may not be good beyond 12/31/2022.

While this is not my personal favorite version of Superman in terms of how the writers "weaken" him, this collection is a must for Superman fans. I appreciate being able to watch this series without commercial interruption. Happy watching!

Color problems like the other remasters, but slightly less noticible

Has some of the color problems that the Batman and Batman Beyond remasters have, but it’s a bit better. Tolerable. It might be because Superman is primary colors so it’s harder to mess with, or that the show is inherently brighter so errors are less noticeable. Some examples: I was watching World’s Finest and in the scene where Batman and Lois fight the robot Lois’s outfit shifts in color from red, to bright pink, and then back to red again. There’s also instances where the background colors shift between shots. Like, in one shot the interior of the flying wing will be a very cool blue grey, and then the next shot of it will be a very warm yellowish grey. Superman’s outfit is usually done well, but there are some points where the red veers close to a pinkish red. It’s like they cared more about cranking up the brightness than keeping the colors accurate or saturated. The explosions while fighting on the flying wing looked a little off too. Never quite the right original yellows and oranges, they look either too dark or too bright, greenish yellow or white orange.

All that said, it is still better than the other remasters. When Superman is onscreen it generally looks very good, maybe because they have to keep his colors balanced. And while I said his reds look a little off at times, it’s nowhere near as bad as the Batman remaster where the whole sky sometimes looks straight up pinkish red. It still feels mostly like how I watched it as a kid, whereas Batman TAS I had to stick with the dvds because the blu ray felt too different.

Outstanding version of the DCAU Superman

Writing for Superman is a very challenging task for just about any decent comic book writer, compared to Batman, whose villains alone helps create the plot.
However, Bruce Timm, Paul Dini and Company were up to the task, making the excellent "Superman: The Animated Series" really enjoyable.

Superman is de-powered somewhat in this series, similar to what DC Comics was doing to the Man Of Steel at the end of the 20th Century, but it helps keeping the viewers involved in the Last Son of Krypton and his adventures, a brilliant idea that works with the show.
Overall, this Blu-ray set is safe for all ages to watch, with no objectionable content on any of the episodes, and it works as a bookend to the DC Animated Universe version of Batman.

To start this off, I was not a fan of Superman, or this cartoon, when it first came out. I watched it when I got home from school some days. Just wanted a cartoon fix and Scooby Doo or anything else at the time just didn’t appeal to kid me.

Eventually I’d catch reruns of this show, still wasn’t the biggest fan of Superman. Other than the kryptonite, I liked a hero with more of a weakness to overcome, that didn’t seem invincible, and so on. Just as a kid I thought Superman was too powerful. It’s a weird thought, now.

I still enjoyed the show but in the back of my mind it was like: “you really like this Boy Scout if a hero? He isn’t brooding. He doesn’t make quips. He doesn’t even have a cool suit of armor.”

Somewhere along the way I became a fan of Superman, his comics or team ups where he showed up, it hooked me. I started to pick up some of his stories without him teaming up with others.

When I saw this cartoon, I was more than happy to give it another chance. I regret nothing, as a fan of Superman now, it’s so much better to me.

It arrived quickly, not faster than a speeding bullet. But it was rattling around. I watched this sooner than I planned to, because I had to make sure discs were going to play without skipping after their shopping care.

Definitely something that caught me by surprise, I thought they’d pack those styrofoam prices to secure the discs so they don’t bounce around.

Happy to say they played perfectly.

The DVD menu leaves a bit to be desired:
Pretty much give you a black screen, a small photo of Superman. Them telling you what disc, episode selection, mine allowed subtitles up until the last few episodes. The last dvd had a few bonus features. Still, I feel like they could’ve just put in the Superman crest or symbol/some kind of flashy or cheesy red and blue background.

Still.. Safe to say if they gave this a blu ray, release I’d buy it in a heartbeat as well.

There was a time when the Superman DVD's were double sided. Thankfully these were spared such treatment. Nothing more I could really ask for in a complete set. The show itself is an absolute classic, aside from the Bizarro Superman episodes that get irritating if you are watching the episodes in a marathon. But that is just a case of my own taste.

I have been waiting for this to happen since I first watched the show way back on TV in. The 90s . Unfortunately they stopped airring too expensive for UK broadcasters I believe .
But flash forward to now the show stands with the Great Animated Batman series and even crosses over with both shows .

Package is unfortunately a let down they made a great batman package I guess they ran out of time .
9/10 overall best superman since reeves .

The HD looks amazing and the show as probably everyone knows is epic.

The one issue is it is advertised as 16:9 aspect ratio, however it's actually 4:3 so has the thick black lines at either side of the screen and that was really disappointing.

I only had this on region 1 DVD so this is a serious upgrade that was worth getting overall.

A great remaster and upgrade in visuals compaired to the DVDs. I am pleased that it still comes in its original apect ratio of 1.33:1 and is not cropped to fit wide screen TV'S, as this would cut out footage from the top and bottom. The only negative is the the box and sleeve is very basic and it does not come with a loose episode manual or artwork manuals.

Just unfortunate they didn't blu ray the set out as there is still the black lines. If it was really blu ray then they shouldn't be there unfortunately like The BAS just repackage the dvd to blu ray and don't update anything.
