The 1st 80 pages or so are devoted to an extremely sensible, low key discussion of the fundamentals of 'The Healthy Kitchen', 'Savvy Shopping', 'Be Your Own Nutritionist', 'Avoiding Diet Pitfalls', Menus & Meals' followed by some 200
pages of excellent recipes. The latter include preparation times, cooking times, calories per serving, as well as information about the contents of each serving i.e. carbs, protein, fats, sodium, etc.
In addition many of the recipes are accompanied by superb, color photographs. The whole is printed on heavy semigloss paper 7.5" x 9.25", one recipe per page in clear readily read type.
And, finally. what can I say? Some of the recipes are truly outstanding and not necessarily found in the standard cookbook collection. Perhaps it is pertinent to add my qualifications to this review: Cooking as well as enjoying
gourmet food have been among my hobbies of the past 60 years. I own and use a largish library of cook books
and I hold a PhD in biochemisry.
