Wouldn't it be great if these were TRUE stories? Sadly, I'm very skeptical. First, not ONE of these stories is something you can find with any research anywhere. There isn't ANY detail provided as to where or when these happened, or to whom. If these were true stories, I would think that at least ONE of the "percipients" would have allowed their names and all of the details to be included with their stories. But no - nobody did.

So what you are left with are a bunch of stories that sound as if they were told by real people with real experiences . . . but the stories were PROBABLY made up by the author. Kind of a let down.

However, it's FUN to read, and it's FUN to think . . . "what if that one is TRUE?"

I recommend it to true believers and skeptics alike.

This book is a short collection of paranormal tales from first responders. Many never believed, but experienced an event that profoundly changed their minds. Some eerie occurrences in this book. An interesting read. P!ease note, there is a sample of a horror novel by the author at the end of the book. I would like to read more of her non-fiction works.

I've always wondered if first responders ever went on a call that was out of the ordinary. As a former nurse aide, I, myself, have heard of unusual stories from nurses of someone's last moment on Earth. This book has a blend of stories of the Supernatural that was witnessed by everyday people that have stressful jobs that have a firm root in reality. Especially law enforcement officers that deal with day to day happenings and deal only with the facts. These stories will keep you up at night. A 911 call from a woman who died a few weeks before. The nightwatchman that let's in police officers to check an alarm in an abandon office. Only to find out that they had been let in by a ghost. So many more. So, if you run into a first responder on the street, thank them for what they do. They help out the living, and sometimes the dead.

I love a good "real" ghost story, and this book delivers that. However, I noticed that two of the stories are very similar with minor differences, this begs the question about the author's sources. It's well written, and organized. I would recommend this book to other people who are real ghost story nerds like me
