After hearing about how this Indian/Canadian is tearing through Europe, with audiences going crazy over his live show and how he supposedly like Screamin Jay Hawkins and James Brown and Otis Redding all in one with a side order of the Ramones/Devil Dogs/New Bomb Turks(!!!!)....I very skeptically bought this album....and WOOOOOOOWEEEEEEEEE
This is the REAL DEAL. This is Curtis Mayfield's long lost All Star Band with James Brown on Soul, Otis Redding on Love, and Isaac Hayes on the MAN. If you are into soul, 70's funk, and good ol' pure old school rolling stones style ballads....This is THE ALBUM OF THE DECADE. I'm finally excited about music again.

I heard about King Khan through his work with The Dirtbombs. I know virtually nothing about the band beyond what I have heard on this album. This is a great album. To tell you the truth, I was surprised at how great a practically unknown group's album is! If you have an ear for obscure garage rock and/or soul, hear this.

If you think it isn't rock and roll unless it has a horns section these guys are for you. Furious punk energy, band funky horns, rock grooves and modern recording quality all in one. Highly recommended to anyone who likes rock.
