"Oh!" Leigh gasped. Withoutthinking, she threw a hand up, her fist connecting with the major's jaw, butjust as the jolt of bone on bone jarred her arm, she felt her wrist caught inan iron grip. The major pulled her forcefully against his chest, crushing thebreath from her, and somehow he'd bent her head back and his lips savagely tookhold of hers.
Even as she fought, she felt thefire running in her veins, the major's warm breath on her cheek only fanning ithigher. She was outraged, yet she yielded to him like a young tree in a storm,bending to the wind. The feel of his arms around her was like home. Heremotions changed from anger to shame to excitement and back again, but she couldn't push him away...
