Brown entreats supervisors and trainees alike to unpack power dynamics and engage collaboratively, rather than rely on fallback strategies such as denial, compliance, pleasing, avoidance, self-deprecation, authoritarianism, and other self-protective coping tactics that thwart personal and professional growth and derail social change.
