I trued it using a high power charger that my friend with VW ID 4 test it it to see the station power witch was 300KW station however with this charger attached my charging rate on tesla model Y was 62 KWH

The body panel contacted the front of the adaptor, see pic. It was not fully inserted and I received an error message but it still charged. I ground off a good 3 mm thickness about 20mm long to get it fully inserted and slight gap to the body panel. Luckily the plastic was thick enough but I just started to break through in one small area. I put black tape over the grove to protect the paint and seal. It is ABS, so I could rub some ABS glue to fill the small crack.They could make the tesla part 3 mm longer and avoid this. Maybe other adaptors have this fixed.

This isn’t just the adapter unit. It comes with a nice storage case that makes it nice to store. Another feature that stood out to me is the pin that sticks out of the Tesla side of the adapter has a soft plastic tip. This pin locks the CCS1 plug into the adapter when it is inserted into the Tesla port.
When I tried it at a local Electrify America station I plugged in the CCS1 connector first then inserted the Tesla end. It didn’t go in as easily as I expected, but that was (I figured out) the pin pushing the CCS1 locking mechanism. Once inserted and I activated the station the blue flashing negotiation happened and then the green charging indication came on. The adapter was working successfully.
One consideration, especially when it’s cool/cold out is battery preconditioning. This happens automagically when navigating to a Tesla Supercharger, but I don’t know any way to manually start preconditioning. My charging session was limited to about an 80KW rate because of battery temperature. In about 20 minutes I was able go from about 25% to about 80% in my Model Y.
This adapter is my backup if I need to charge outside the Supercharger network or maybe if I find a less expensive and/or more convenient CCS1 charging. It keeps my options open which I like. It seems solidly made and seems to work perfectly. With the plus of the included case I’m giving this CCS1 to Tesla adapter 5 stars. I’m very pleased.

I admit it. I’m kind of a Supercharger snob. I like that Tesla has their own charging network that is super reliable and convenient. Still I like to keep my options open. That’s why I got this Supicon CCS1 to Tesla charging adapter. This is only for Level 3 DC fast charging. It won’t work for Level 2 AC charging which is fine because Tesla’s come with a Level 2 J1772 adapter.Reviewed in the United States 🇺🇸 on February 16, 2023

Works, but power is not as high as at Tesla chargers. Still very useful around here where we don't always have a Tesla charger
