This is my best kept secret for brain health. The brain made up of about 1/3 lecithin. After I discovered this I put two-and-two together, and I thought it made sense to add extra lecithin to my diet much the same way someone would add protein to their diet to support strong muscles. I started out taking Soy Lecithin powder. Then I found a Sunflower Lecithin in a softgel. After that, I came across this product of Sunflower Lecithin in a powder. I felt like I struck gold with this product. It allowed me to supply greater amounts of lecithin to my diet without popping lots of softgels.
I add this powder to my protein shake. It mixes really well in a blender with the protein powder, and it does not affect the taste of a chocolate protein shake (I can’t speak for other flavors). I usually add a banana to my chocolate protein shake to make it a little smoother tasting. I don’t do this every day. But, when I go too long without my, let’s call it muscle+brain shake, I do notice a slight downturn in my cognitive abilities. Then I start drinking the shakes again, and in a couple of days I notice my mind becomes sharper. I notice in things like I am able to read faster, concentrate better, and type faster. It’s noticeable, so I don’t think it is a placebo effect.
Like I said, this is my best kept secret to brain health, and now hopefully it will help others out there.
