The relays are weak. VERY WEAK. They falter and switch to direct power on their own. I'm using these in circuits drawing 2a-30A and they're all bypassing eventually. The first one did it with 2-2x3 cube leds within hours of installing. That's roughly a 3A total draw..... Terrible.
And it's been all the relays. Swapping them around yields the same result; A slow ongoing failure that stopped immediately with a new relay from the auto parts store.

Only reason I gave these 2 stars is because it's still a good deal for the sockets themselves. Wiring and connectors within the sockets are pretty good.

These relays are having a melt down @ 30 amp constant each im using 2 for a total of 60 amp charge for solar. Yes the plastic is melting and also taking the plug with it. I suppose ill see how long they last and leave it at that and i guess its a good thing i have 3 extras and to save them im going to have to spend more money on splitting one input to two to share the load for no more then 15 amp each constant.
80 amp my a**.
5 months later i had to change them just wanted to see how long they would hold up.

Don't spend extra money thinking you'll get sockets with these as indicated in the image. I didn't.

Added two stars - the relays did in fact work - though it would have been nice to get the sockets with them..

5 male spade connectors on bottom of relay. 3 for power contacts, 2 for coil. They are all the same size. This is odd. what is even odder is that the wiring on the socket connector is all the same size wire as well. Unfortunately, it appears to be 16AWG which is good for about 10 amps. How does one use these for an 80 amp connected load. Deceptive junk!

I received everything I needed. 5 relays and 5 connector/relay receptacles. I needed relays that fit in a very small area. These fit the bill. It is nice that the connectors are designed to lock together side by side or one on top of the other.

The specification for these relays are confusing. "High 40A coil capacity- able to handle those high current applications with ease". What the hell does that mean? The coil has nothing to do with "high current applications"

The printing on the top of the relay (see picture) says "40A 14 VDC". I have never seen a relay contact rated at 14VDC. Either it's a type-0 or really crappy contacts. I will let you know if they fail.

Measured current draw for relay coil is 128ma @12V. Resistance is 84 ohms. This was pretty consistent across multiple relays.

The relays sockets are made from what looks like 16ga wire. Not enough to carry 80 amps. Relays themselves seem to be okay. I plan to build my own relay sockets from 12 gauge wire.
