but I would not recommend using it as a patrol officer every day
The watchlight works as designed, but I would not recommend using it as a patrol officer every day, while in training during an active shooter scenario the watch broke, at it's weakest point the band, both pins popped out. Only good thing I recovered it at training, if I was on the streets of Detroit where I normally work, I might not have gotten it back. It needs to be tougher for law-enforcement to work every day on the streets one good fight and it's off ha ha ha ha
Very lightweight and simple to use. I love the handy button right in front to go through the various illuminations. The highest level 300 lumens gets the job done in most cases. Really enjoying this wrist flashlight!
I owned the org 2211 with the metal body back around 2015, lent it to a police officer friend and let him keep it as a gift.
This year for my birthday I figured I'd treat myself and get the watch version. Extremely glad I did!
I really enjoy watches and flashlights so I was excited when I saw this combo for such an affordable price! The watch functions perfect even after shooting multiple times and the flashlight is extremely bright. The beam is nice and wide and it has a decent throw. Using the side buttons the mode controls can be turned down for tasks around the house and job site that don't require all 300 lumens which is great.
I own multiple surefire products and like the others it does not disappoint in any manner. Being a U.S. Marine I'm pretty hard on my gear and it takes everything I've thrown at it without missing a beat. I currently work in a tactical shop and wear this watch often and it always attracts attention with fellow tactical guys and light enthusiasts. Would buy again a heartbeat if I ever needed to.
This is by far one of the favorite and useful items in my edc gear. I not only have it for tactical reasons but also for everyday purposes such as walking my dog at night I have it on to always be ready for dangerous situations. The only complaint I have to say is that I wished the band was more secure since in the past I’ve had the little screw holding the band together come off but this can easily be fixed but if it comes off when you don’t realize it you could lose the thing. I also wished they came with a less expensive version with a watch to blend in as the wrist light by itself gets a lot of curious people noticing it so if you’re trying to be discreet and all then go for the watch version.
This little light is amazing! I only wish we had lights like this in the military when I was in. It's extremely bright, the battery life is as stated for each lumen setting and is quite comfortable on the wrist. It is slightly bulkier than a watch, but given the size of the CR123 battery that powers it, there isn't much more bulk on top of that. It is also incredible how often I use it; going down to the basement, looking in the trunk of the car, even when I have to get up in the middle of the night, its there. On top of the tactical uses for police officers (it is quite blinding), this is an excellent EDC light.
I generally love Surefire products, but not this light. Battery low voltage shut off is simply too abrupt for any mission critical application. Let me explain in detail, starting with the attributes of the light:
The form factor for the light is lovely. The beam pattern is as it should be - flood, wide angle. Perfect for 25 yard acquisition of target with firearm in hand - two handed hold of the firearm. Absolutely perfect. You are able to light up the target and ample surrounding area.
The problem with this light is the auto shut off when the battery is low - hitting around 2.7 volts. The shut off is abrupt - no warning at all. There is no gradual dimming, no quick flashes of light at initial light engagement, no warning whatsoever. This is simply unacceptable. In my Surefire Defender model (1 battery model), the light will dim gradually as the battery drains. At 2.7 volts, the light will still turn on, albeit in dim fashion. You have usable light in the duration with ample warning that you must change batteries. With the Defender model, you are never left in complete darkness unless you fail to heed the ample warning signs that you need to change to a fresh battery.
With the 2211X, I am afraid. Unless you measure the battery voltage prior to each tour or trip, you have the risk of complete darkness at a crucial time. Light to total darkness in a split second with no warning. This simply unacceptable in a mission critical piece of equipment. Surefire, you need to fix this!
This light is by far the most practical of the wrist lights. A removeable battery means you can put it away in a drawer and not worry about it recharging. A beam that cycles from blinding to perfectly useable with the tap of a button. very comfortable strap that will go around a jacket and the watch-style spring pins make changing to any other strap fast and easy. The IPX7 water resistance means you don't have to worry about using it in the rain. Perfect
