The Surefire G2X Pro is a great light as an EDC. It has two modes, one is the 15 lumen, which is great for reading, or finding stuff without blinding myself. And the high mode, 200 lumen is good for night walking and light up extremely well in the dark. However, the one thing I really don't like about those new Surefire flashlight is they use the Lexan window instead of the Pyrex ones. Lexan, as is known, is just some plastic called "polycarbonate". Although I think Surefire uses those windows for impact resistance, yet polycarbonate is extremely easy to have scratches on it. So be extremely careful when try to wipe the lens, and never wipe it dry with your clothes!

I ordered my Surefire G2X Pro near the end of May and selected standard shipping. I was pleasantly surprised to find the flashlight on my door step in just a few short days. The company shipped the product much faster than expected. It arrived in excellent condition; I could not wait for nightfall to come so I could try it out.
In regards to the G2X Pro, I am extremely satisfied. The construction of this flashlight feels very sturdy, from its aluminum bezel to its polymer body. At first I was skeptical of the "plastic"; however, I soon discovered that it was made of superior materials and feels extremely solid in my hands.
The light projected from this small flashlight is astounding. Its low 15-lumen setting is perfect to use around the house, and its 200-lumen setting is extremely bright and far throwing. It illuminated an area roughly 75 yards long with ease. The high output setting's blinding ability is very useful and practical for self-defense. If shined in someones eyes at night or in a dark room it has the ability to temporarily bind them. ( I learned the hard way).
The click button on the end of the flashlight is very sturdy and stiff; requiring it to be pressed with authority to click it on. This is good in preventing accidental activation. The twist cap lock is also useful and effective. I carry mine without it locked since I keep in a flashlight holster.
In short, I highly recommend this product to anyone looking for a flashlight that can be used around the house, in the woods, on the streets, in the line of duty, and for self defense. I am happy with this product and encourage those who are interested to buy it.

I bought this to send to my husband who is out in Afghanistan. Before I sent it to him, I tested it out. It's easy to use and the high beam is excellent. My husband wrote to me to say that he loves the flashlight and it's the best one he's ever used.

I will never buy a cheap flashlight again. Unless of course I plan on trashing it in a year. My wife liked it so much I had to get her one. My light died on me after about 6 months. Surefire sent me a brand new one no after they inspected my original. Use surefire batteries and replace yearly just to make sure they do not leak. Get over it. You have over a $100 in flashlight that may or may not work in your drawers already. You will carry this one with you everywhere you go. Buy two because your spouse will covet yours.

This is a great flashlight. I wanted something that I could use for around the house or in the glove box of my car, but would also be practical for camping/outdoor uses. This is the perfect flashlight for all of my intended uses. It is small enough to fit into my pocket weighing only 4.4 ounces including batteries, yet the polymer body (with metal head)feels nearly indestructible. The low 15 lumen setting is adequate for most uses and has an amazing run-time of 45 hours. The high 200 lumen setting has a "tactical run-time" of 2 hours. This means that the flashlight is rated to last 2 hours on the high setting before the output drops to below 50 lumens. The high setting really is quite bright. It puts my large LED maglight to shame. I joke that when camping the low setting works great for small tasks around the campfire but when you think you hear a bear in the woods your glad the high setting is there.

This is an expensive flashlight. Surefire sells it on their site for $95. I understand how many people would think this is just way to much money for a flashlight. My response to that is you get what you pay for. I have gone through so many cheap flashlights over the years and they have their purposes, but when I'm in the woods or broken down on the side of the road I want something that I can count on. This flashlight is a convenient size, tough construction, light-weight, has an extremely long run-time (on low) and the ability to use a very high output level.

I needed an affordable, powerful, and compact flashlight.

Stylistically, the flashlight is muted. It is a tool - not a toy car.

In addition to being a very powerful light, I love the design of the on-button. Clicking the button will lock the button on or off. The light alternates between high and low beam modes. The rear of the flashlight can be twisted to prevent accidental turn on.

The light can get very warm if left in high beam for too long.
