Turns out, once again, you get what you pay for. The follower spring is too weak and poorly made to keep the staples going, the hammer has deformed after moderate use, and the O-rings and general mechanics of this thing are just such junk, that I am surprised it lasted this long.
Well buy your $28 stapler and have fun with it's stellar performance. I am going back to my old US-made Bostitch and rebuild it.
I would guess its not ideal for a professional upholsterer, but its great for a wood worker who does occasional projects involving vinyl.
