Editorial Reviews

Review

"I found this monograph to be an excellent comprehensive text on surgical management of conditions of the eyelids, orbit and lacrimal system. It is well-organized with clear figures, tables and photographs and is an outstanding resource for both trainees and practicing ophthalmologists." -- Elizabeth Baze, M.D., Cullen Eye Institute, Baylor College of Medicine

"Dr. Yen has assembled an impressive group of international experts to author this masterpiece on surgery of the eyelids, lacrimal system, and orbit. A clear and concise description of the evaluation and management of a broad range of oculoplastics conditions is provided, with beautiful supporting illustrations and photographs. This textbook serves as both a practical guide and useful reference for surgical techniques involving the orbit and adnexa. It is a valuable resource for physicians-in-training, as well as experienced practioners." -- Steven J. Gedde, M.D.. Professor of Ophthalmology and Residency Program Director Bascom Palmer Eye Institute

Surgery of the Eyelids, Lacrimal System and Orbit is a masterfully organized, superbly illustrated comprehensive textbook on the management and surgery of disorders of the eyelids, lacrimal apparatus and orbit. The text is edited by Michael T. Yen, M.D., Associate Professor of Ophthalmology, Cullen Eye Institute and Department of Ophthalmology, Baylor College of Medicine and comprises 31 chapters authored by more than 50 nationally and internationally recognized experts in the field. The anatomical diagrams and illustrations of surgical procedures by the same artist throughout the text are precise, properly detailed and easy to follow. The photographs of clinical entities, neuro-images, and surgical procedures are clear and greatly enrich the narrative text. The numbered subsections within each chapter and detailed, expansive index facilitate retrieval of material.

"Surgery of the Eyelids, Lacrimal System and Orbit is an authoritative, highly valuable resource for residents and fellows in training, comprehensive ophthalmologists, and practitioners in orbital, plastic and reconstructive surgery." -- Dan B. Jones, M.D. , Sid W. Richardson Professor, Margarett Root Brown Chair, and Director, Cullen Eye Institute
Department of Ophthalmology- Baylor College of Medicine

"The Second Edition of Surgery of the Eyelids, Lacrimal System, and Orbit represents a comprehensive review of modern day oculofacial plastic surgery. Michael Yen has assembled an outstanding group of contributing authors that have systematically provided the reader with a practical approach to the surgical management of the oculofacial plastic surgery patient. The text is divided into detailed sections covering eyelid reconstruction, eyelid malposition, lacrimal system, and orbit. The final section is devoted to aesthetic surgery of the eyelids and face and includes not only traditional surgical approaches but also detailed techniques in nonsurgical facial rejuvenation. I recommend this text not only to residents and fellows in training, but also to the experienced surgeon.

"Through detailed description of surgical techniques generously accompanied by a multitude of illustrations, Surgery of the Eyelids, Lacrimal System, and Orbit provides a contemporary approach to functional and aesthetic surgery of the eyes and face." -- Vikram D. Durairaj, M.D., F.A.C.S., Associate Professor of Ophthalmology and Otolaryngology Head and Neck Surgery, Oculoplastic and Orbital Surgery, Fellowship Director, Associate Residency Program Director, Dept. of Ophthalmology, University of Colorado Denver School of Medicine

"It combines a comprehensive organization structure with contributions from world class
authors to provide an outstanding reference for an ophthalmologist of any practice level. The illustrations comprise an excellent reference to aid in comprehension of the surgical techniques discussed. This book stands strong with any of its peers in the surgical descriptions and techniques of orbital, eyelid, and lacrimal surgery." -- DOODY'S
