A simple and fairly predictable story of a young woman being falsely accused of inappropriate behavior by her student and her reputation is branded. This story, of course, is about her trying to pick up the pieces and move on...hoping to keep her notoriety secret as she rebuilds her life. Naturally she meets the perfect man who, naturally, is instantly bonkers for her and, of course, she’s reluctant to pursue her attraction for fear of her past becoming known and tarnishing him by association. That’s the story. I liked Annalise, but her nervous shyness was overplayed and ruined her for me. She was too pitiful. Wounded, alone and lonely....all very “woe is me”. Always thinking she was imposing on others even though they knew nothing about her past. And Cole was so perfect. A successful Dr from a perfect family. With siblings who are happy, loved and...all so perfect. It was too much “sunshine and rainbows”. Everyone in his family is successful and gets along. It’s an ok story and told well with no editing issues. But Annalise dealing with her drama wore me out. It became unbelievable, contrived and forced in order to prolong the story.
Dr. Cole Braden is an orthopedic surgeon who grew up in Peaceful Harbor, Maryland. After college he returned to his hometown to set up his practice with a friend and to be surrounded by his family. He has a good life, even with a crazy ex-girlfriend who also happens to live in Peaceful Harbor, and is fairly content. One day he meets someone who just might make life a little sweeter.
Annalise (Leesa) Avalon is a middle school teacher whose life is turned upside-down by unfortunate circumstances. She leaves her hometown and comes to Peaceful Harbor to spend a few weeks with her friend Tegan while she figures out what to do next. Leesa is getting breakfast for Tegan when she meets Cole for the first time. It turns out she is buying the last of his favorite muffins and coffee and the two talk for a little while. She starts seeing him around town a lot and Leesa and Cole are instantly drawn toward each other. Leesa has some reservations and issues that she has to deal with before she will let herself be in a relationship and she doesn't know if she is strong enough to face them.
While I love all of Melissa Foster's books, my favorite so far has been the Seaside Summers series because of the setting and I think the Bradens of Peaceful Harbor is a close second. I feel like the setting is fairly similar since it takes place along the ocean and I can easily picture the beautiful scenery of the coastal town. If you enjoy Melissa Foster's books, I'd definitely recommend reading the Bradens of Peaceful Harbor series and I would suggest starting with the first in this series, Healed by Love, because it will help to get a good understanding of the characters and the Braden family dynamic. I highly recommend this series!
Cole is not only a Braden, but the eldest Braden which only means he is protective and serious...and being a Doctor only makes him want to take care of everyone and everything even more.
Leesa was a teacher who was accused of something so awful that she didn't know how to bounce back from it all.
But, in finding each other, Leesa learned she needed to confront her past to be able to move forward, and Cole learned how to back up a little bit and allow her to do what she needed to do in order to be able to move forward.
Another great one by Melissa!!!
Annalise (who chooses to use the name Leesa) has lived through a traumatic experience and has moved to Pleasant Hill to regroup and to spend time with a friend. She is a middle school teacher who loves her job and the impact she knows she can make on their lives.
Cole is the oldest of the Braden siblings and he is a handsome, determined and focused orthopedic surgeon. He and Leesa meet in a chance encounter at the local coffee shop and sparks fly! They cannot forget that meeting and when their paths seem to cross on several occasions, they begin to realize that maybe “fate” has brought them together.
I like Melissa’s style of writing. She has chosen a sensitive subject and has done a great job of sharing the emotions and the uncertainty of the situation. The plot was well developed and the characters were believable. I would recommend the book in either version… print or audio.

How romantic and perfect was Cole Braden and it all started over Coffee and a Muffin and a chance meeting with Leese, it was such a sweet moment.
As with all Melissa Foster's stories there is always a message that runs throughout the storyline, in this case it was all about forgiveness, accepting and letting go of a past experience in order to move on.
What happened to Leese was awful but it all comes down to fate and destiny, she would never have gone to Peaceful Harbor and met Cole so out of everything bad that happens something good happens and that's exactly what happened in this case.
Just like all the other series that have gone before and are currently running now you become so addicted but let's face it how can you not when you've got all these fabulous characters.. The Bradens, The Remingtons, The Ryder's and much more.. Just brilliant!!
Cole is another sexy Braden who is also a doctor hello ladies a doctor yes he is every bit confident, sexy, sometimes arrogant as doctors get but Cole does everything with his whole heart should it be his patients or family or a girl who wants his favourite coffee and muffin which is the case when he bumps into Leesa with 2 ee's at Jazzy Joe's coffee house it's the last 1 of each and he graciously gives her and also ends up paying for them too lol.
Leesa who is living and helping with her best friend Tegan who has broken her ankle bumps into Mr. Tall Dark and Handsome at the coffee shop and takes his order is smitten but who wouldn't be, Cole as it turns out to be Tegan's doctor. A friendship as well as a relationship starts up on the cusp of an Bachelor Auction at Mr B's Microbrewery which belongs to Cole's parents and also where Leesa waitresses.
This book has a lot going on and it is brilliantly written can't wait for more from Melissa and the rest of the Braden's and Love in Bloom series
After days later one of his patients comes backs to see him and brings along her best friend who happens to he the girl from the cafe. She is introduced to Dr Cole as Lessee. He asked her out but she refuse. On see her working at his parents restaurant he asks her to bid for him at a charity auction which his mother and sisters had arranged, while bidding for Cole his ex girlfriend also starts bidding but Lessee outbid her much to Cole's relief. After winning the bid Cole asks het out on a date which she goes.on. after awhile she realise she is being to fall in love with him so she tells him her secret pass.
After a few days she realise she cannot be with him until she has put her past to rest so her goes back to her home town and trys to sort out her past, when she realise how.much she has fallen in love with him also Cole realises this so he goes and finds her at her old house will there the person to cause all of her problems come and apologize to her.
Will there Cole asks her to move in with him and live the rest of her life with him.
Leesa has gone to stay in Peaceful Harbour, to spend some time with her friend.. Events out of her control, have forced her to leave everything she loves behind to work out what to do next...
Leesa never expected to meet Cole Braden, or that she would fall head over heal for him..
I just love Melissa Foster and her amazing mind, she writes books that have you hooked for the very first page... Once you open one of them, you can't put it down. When you have finished, you feel the loss of her characters and the places they're at..
