This book is so different from what I have read from Jaimie before. Once I started I couldn’t put it down.
I really enjoyed the story.
Alice wants for her friends to be able to have a family so she offers to be a surrogate for them.. even though she would love a baby for herself.
Kyle her Husband is not so happy about it he doesn’t want her to do it. As the book goes on we kinda of see a different side to Kyle as to the one Alice said he was when they got married.
I could relate to Alice in some ways, I did think she was a bit of a push over at the start but she did grow as the book went on.
As for Sarah and Ethan, now I liked Ethan from the start but Sarah I wasn’t too sure off.
I didn’t like Kyle or Sarah…
Just remember things aren’t always what they seem.
You might love and hate people in this book you will shout at your kindle. You will want to throw your kindle…
I loved the ending.
Yes it was different from Jaimie’s other books but I did enjoy it.
I just discovered Jaimie Roberts recently and boy have I been missing out! Her stories keep getting better and better. This book was outside my usual genres for sure but it was a phenomenal story! Romance, friendship, betrayal, humor, and serious subjects- this book has it all. I found all of the characters to be extremely well-written and rounded. The characters were almost mirrors of each other; selfless and selfish. This book really pushes the darker side of a person and emphasizes those who truly have the light inside of them.
I had my suspicions regarding the more major twists but when they did happen I was shocked! Appalled even! I felt so attached to Alice throughout the story that at times I wanted to put the book down because I wanted so much to happen for her and was worried it would be all ripped away! I’m happy to say Alice eventually found her lady balls and become quite the woman.
A Surrogate Love Affair brings to mind so many controversial subjects and would be the perfect book for an ethics debate. It also shows the darker sides of marriage, obsession, and just how far someone will go to obtain what they want. At times you won’t be able to tell who is the villain and who is the hero.
There’s not much more to say without lessening the experience but I cannot recommend this book enough! Even if it isn’t in your usual genre I’d say give it a go, you won’t be disappointed! 5 HUGE stars xx
This book is centered around 2 married couples. Sarah and Ethan, who are trying desperately to conceive a child, and Alice and Kyle, who's relationship is completely opposite from their friend's. Alice wants to have children badly, but Kyle isn't ready for that responsibility. So when Ethan mentions that he and Sarah were looking into surrogacy as an option, Alice jumps at the chance to have their baby, not knowing that her decision will change all of their lives completely.
It's really hard to go into the specifics of this book without giving so much away. I can say that this book had me thinking about life and fate and destiny. It told the story of 2 marriages, both of them looking perfect from the outside. Once the book delved into their homes, you realize that everything isn't always what it seems. You never know what someone is going through until you walk a mile in their shoes. And you never what secrets they are hiding in order to get what they want.
I had no idea where this book would take me. I thought I pretty much had it all figured out, a good idea of how the story was going to play out and end. I was so wrong. I was completely blown away with the story. And the epilogue!!! That was definitely a "WTF?" moment! And I loved it! I cannot recommend this book enough!
