Handle broke from rope during second workout ever.

EDIT: I have come to find that this seller has been paying for fake reviews to be posted on their product. Please do not believe the high rating for this jumprope on Amazon. Look at the reviews with attached pictures (those reviews are from real customers) and all of them are 1-2 stars with similar stories to mine. ~~End EDIT~~

Pretty sad. I was so excited to finally get this jumprope. It has such good reviews, and people seemed to love it. So it finally arrives, and i am really excited. This is exactly how it played out:

Day 1: Received the product. Got an email from the company who made it letting me know that it was arriving today, and that if anything was wrong, feel free to replay to the email with any concerns or questions. I go to the gym, and try it out. It was fine, and i got my workout in. I did notice some lack of quality in the materials of the handle, because the handle was Super plasticy, and really light material; like something that comes from a super cheap kids' toy.

Day 3: I go to jump rope again, and after about 5 minutes, the handle just splits open and breaks from the rope. Just like that! My second time using the jumprope, and the handle split. my reaction: ---_____---

I thought, no worries, it happens; i replied to the email from the company that was sent earlier in the week, and i sent them what had happened, along with the exact pictures that I have posted here. All I asked was if they can replace the broken jumprope, so that I can try it again, or see if it was a one-off thing.

I waited four days, and received no reply. Nothing. So this is where I am right now. I ordered another jumprope from another company, WOD, and their jumprope handle is of much higher quality, so i am going to try that now. For this one, I am simply going to return it back to amazon.

I am sad that this company never gave itself a second chance...

Very thin rubber coated cable, lightweight and difficult to jump at any length. I jump rope well and feel I can jump just about anything but after many attempts, adjustments, different shoes, I gave up on this. My roommate had the same experience with it so I am returning it. =(

You wanna jump over some rope? This rope swings around and you can jump right over it. You can jump fast, you can jump slow, you can even jump fancy. This rope will keep swinging and you can keep jumping. But, BEWARE! This rope does NOT forgive. If you mess up by miss-timing a jump, this rope will punish you. This rope is basically made of a steel cable with a very thin coating of plastic. When it hits you, you will feel a sting like the whip of Satan and it leaves you with a mark both physically and emotionally. This jump rope fosters a real punishment avoidance-type of cardio training.

I don't know how this thing has such high stars.

1) Broken after first use, one of the ends shot out like a bullet during mid-jump

2) Most concerning of the issues is the a stray metal wire sticking out (shown in pic) in the middle of the rope. I felt something cut my leg and when examining the rope, the sharp barb punctured my thumb.

Amazon users: Please beware of poor quality material and poor engineering. Use at your own risk.

Broke After 10 Minutes

Everything was going great until it broke, roughly 10 minutes into using it. All of a sudden, one of the medal bearings from one handle broke off. I held onto the rope and continued to jump, expecting to fix it after I finished. I could not find the medal bearing and figured I'd superglue it back or something. However, during the very next set a minute later the other handle broke. I now use the rope by itself without the handles, which actually isn't terrible. However, it is clear that the quality of this jump rope is subpar, to say the least.

At the start, this product exceeded my expectations as a speed rope. After 2 months of vigorous speed jumping, the outer plastic coating had worn down, exposing the metal wire inside. This in return caused the metal wire to wear down, to eventually become two seperate pieces... I'm certainly no monster, but I had also hoped it could withstand torture from an active person.

When you buy a product from Amazon you get review requests right away. It's not possible to review a lot of products adequately without usage and a break in period. I've had this jump rope for about a year now. I jump rope regularly, almost every day, and I use this rope for part of it. Generally, I prefer the heavier rope or leather jump ropes to the lighter cable ones; however, the lighter ones are good for speed. The rope never completely straightened out for me. I was never able to get the natural self loop out of the center of the rope (center being the mid point between the two handles), which always became a pain when first starting each set.
Despite that, for the price, I will be ordering another one of these soon. The plastic outer wrap is wearing off and I want to get another one before the cable starts to fray.

Update: 05/08/17
Seller contacted me after my original review. Without any request on my part, the seller offered to replace my original jump rope, free of charge. They sent me a new jump rope, which arrived in just days. The new rope is free of the loop in the center of the rope that I mentioned in my original post. This makes a big difference. I'm quite happy with the replacement and the customer service and have upgraded my rating (without prompting from the seller) from 3 stars to 5.
